he is a radio vigilante.

his schtick is to go against the grain and if he irriates you (which he obviously does) then he is doing his job.

then again having a bruins cheerleader on montreal radio is a bit frustrating at times, especially when they are doing well.

My friend says he thinks he was at the same synagogue as PJ Stock as a kid. Is he even Jewish?

Maybe he liked to hang out at synagogues anyways. For the wine or something.

Objectively speaking here, I swear!

Guys,

I think you need to take PJ for what he is and as someone pointed out here, he's trying to piss Habs fans off and cause a stir. That's his gig! If you can roll with it, you'll have fun and appreciate him. He has gotten way better on the air TV/Radio than he was three years ago! If you give me a chance up there and a lot of you have, then you have to give him one! He's from Montreal at least and I'm from Boston!

Happy Holidays!

Murph

I am positively predisposed to Stock but sometimes he sounds really bad.

Last time I tuned in to his radio show some guy was asking him to comment on the fact that some stores are barring veterans from selling poppies at their door. Stock would presumably reply that the vendors should allow the poppy campaign to go on at their door.

Instead he just hemmed and hawed and didnt know what to say about it. Like some sorta concussion syndrome was starting to kick in. Seemed awfully thick on that occasion.

I'm not a PJ fan but calling a radio show about hockey to talk to discuss this issue seems a little weird no? I'd be shocked too. Might as well call Ron Fournier and ask him his position on the Middle-East.

I don't agree with 95% of what he is saying on the radio but I stil listen to him. What people should realize is that PJ is playing a specific role, a character, that is the "provocative entertainer". That's the opposite of the so-called "expert analysts". His focus is on the show and not on the hockey.

To a lesser extent others are trying this too, with more or less success. People like Gabriel Grégoire or J.C. Lajoie. You cannot expect rigourous and expert opinions from them - it's not their thing. Their main purpose is to entertain.

I've always had a bigger problem with how he acts on CBC, which has nothing to do with the Habs. His points are trite and he talks like he just got out of broadcast school. The way his eyes follow the teleprompter really annoy the **** out of me too.

He was a terrible hockey player who got tossed aside early enough for him to move into another hockey related career he could be terrible at.

If Laraque ever did that to Lucic... (the glove in the face, that is)
