uh...if vishnevski could have been had for so little, it would have happened already. several times over. i doubt the ducks are looking to trade him, especially for a draft pick.

I'm not too sure on Vishnevski's value.. he makes over 1m. and the Ducks have a hefty salary and they won't be making the playoffs..

lemme try again.

to VAN: Vitaly Vishnevski

to ANA: Jason King

again, i doubt it. vishnevski is one of the more underrated young physical d-men. if he was available, he'd be exactly what nashville was looking for. since he hasn't been mentioned in their list...he's either not available or anaheim wants a whole lot for him.

To put this in perspective, Islander fans have talked about Vitaly Vishnevski
for Mark Parrish. Most of us think that this deal would be fair, and Parrish is certainly worth more than mid-round pick or King.

From the Nucks, I think a player with trade value equivalent to Vitaly Vishnevski
might be Allen. I doubt Nuck fans would be happy if Allen got traded for that little.

Suffice it to say that the likelihood of Vishnevski getting traded is minimal, and it would take a hefty offer... far in excess of the original proposal. Allen is about right, and I think the Ducks would still pass.

Vishnevski is young, inexpensive, improving positionally and can play physical when the occasion calls for it. He has been one of his team's best defenders all season long.

Allen for Vishnevsky is a terrible deal for Vancouver..

forget this whole proposal. I figured Vis would be on the market, o well.

in my personal opinion, i think it would take more than allen to get him right now, and i would need more than just allen, and i really like allen

It's going to take overpayment to get him basically. He's a young, hard hitting d-man. Those are in short supply.

earlier in the season....he may of been on the market
now, I'd say there are at least 4 other blueliners who are more available then Vish in Anaheim
(also I doubt Anaheim will trade a defenceman unless they get one back, with Ozolinsh out for the rest of the season and Simpson already gone)

Vishnevski was the 5th pick a few years ago and still has a lot of upside.I think it would take an above average prospect and a 2nd to nab him.

I would go so far as to say that the Ducks are not taking offers for him at this time. A lot has changed between the start of the season and today. He has risen on the depth chart of the Ducks' defense corps since then, is cheap, versatile, and improving. There is no reason for them to trade him.

Vish is finally starting to show why he was picked so high. You'd have to give the moon up for him.

Vish has been our best d-man lately. He is showing his offensive upside he hits everthing in sight. He is still young and has an average salary.

3rd round pick...
try first round pick and your #1 prospect to start...

Agreed...The first two proposals were absolutley brutal...Allen for Vish is getting close, but seems like a lateral move...I'd prefer Vishnevski anyway.

Vishnevski is the last guy the Ducks will deal on their blueline at this point.

this thread on the Ducks board basically outlines managements position on Carney

I personally, cannot see a defender leaving Anaheim, unless another one is ponied up to replace him

So basically more then any team would be willing to trade

In any case, I think the Ducks should keep their core together. They have a pretty solid core, and if there is a seaon next year, I think they could bounce right back.

It's been rather well established in the last two or three weeks that the Ducks are not trading their defensemen this deadline unless someone decides to overpay.

you can't honestly put Vishnevsky in the same boat as Ohlund. they're leagues apart.

I don't think Parrish for Vishnevski is fair at all, we have enough forwards and our weakness is defense. Definitely not a fair offer at all when you consider our needs

For Vish Vancouver would have to start with Kesler.
