I have tickets and was looking forward to it until I saw on your post that we are playing Flordia. Now I feel jaded.

Wow the Panthers are hurting. Olesz, Zednik, Booth, Horton, Stillman, Allen, all injured? Senators had better win this one.

Go Sens Go!!

Great GDT.

Ottawa and Florida are jokeying for position in this game with Florida
a point up on Ottawa.

With De Boer a runner up for Hartsburg's job-or maybe he turned it down-you have to assume that Hartsburg has extra reasons for wanting this game.

edit:
Flordia Panthers?

I thought the stretch was already over? NYR, Toronto, Atlanta and Pittsburgh. Unless they've extended it to five games?

Whoa didn't realize how banged up Florida is. The Sens should win this game... but I said that about the Islanders games as well. Go Sens!

I thought too, but I thought I heard during saturdays game or post-game show that they were wearing them again tonight.

Damn, didn't put the date in the title

I think they had mentioned that they were going to keep wearing the black jersey's as long as they keep winning with them.

As for the Panthers, despite the injuries they have been playing fairly well. J.Bo is starting to show signs of life and putting up some good numbers lately. We should win this one, but it should be a close game and the Sens will need to keep up the effort for the full 60 min.

Not allowed to do that apperantely. They can only wear the 3rds for fifteen games, and they have already set out the dates. And they can only change those with league approval.

Courtesy of some guy who works for the Sens who emailed the post-game show to explain what's up, and why they can't just keep wearing them.

And yes they are wearing the 3rds tonight.

I'm pretty sure it was always a five-game stretch.

Also, check out the look on J-Bo's face in that 3rd picture. We already have Spezza who giggles, do we really need another person who will embarrass the team with such outrageous behaviour?

Nope the NHL only allows teams to wear the third jerseys 15 games a season. The sens have 15 games already laid out.

This will be the last time we see the jerseys for a couple weeks.

I figured my post was obvious enough I didn't need to include my after every single word.

He looks like he is saying to the refs "It was not me, it was the one-armed man".

I don't think of this as Game #25, I prefer to think of it as the final JBo in-person job interview.

Probably sells more jerseys this way. If one team really likes the alternative, more so than they regular home jerseys, this prevents them from phasing them our and replacing him. More revenue from jersey sales, and doesn't create any contract issues with Reebok (that's who makes the jerseys right?) if one jersey is no longer used.

Not saying that's the exact reasoning, but that's what makes sense in my head.
