New Alternate Captain?

Assuming no major leader comes to the team via trade.. who do you think will take Ohlunds "A"?

Right now I'd say it would be down to Bieksa or Burrows. You could make a good argument for either one and probably right. Based on this team though I think Burrows would be the best choice.

For me personally it would be Burrows.

Letters aren't given out according to skill.

I think Bieksa should get it personally, although I would not complain about Burrows getting it.

The Sedins are now the longest serving Canucks.

Home: H Sedin, Burrows, Mitchell
Road: D Sedin, Kesler, Bieksa

The thing when evaluating Burrows vs. Bieksa is, Burrows gives it 110% game in and game out. I don't think I've ever seen a game where Burrows has dogged it on the ice. Whereas Bieksa has some games where he looks absolutely terrible and then goes off and takes a selfish stupid penalty.

Bieksa does come off as a leader type, but so does Burrows. Either way I don't think you can make a bad choice with either of these two.

Doesn't mean they're leaders.

I know Burrows is the sexy choice, but by all accounts, Johnson is a very important guy in the room and was missed while injured.

He also speaks well for the state of the team. I guess it helps that he's well-spoken, therefore being a favorite of the media.

Oh, and I think you gotta go with Sedin. Either one really. Most would say Henrik I assume but I chose Daniel.

Hodgson will likely be captain one day... but I don't think it's in the next couple years.

Do we need to have three?

Why not just Luongo ( C ) and Kesler and Mitchell ( A's )?

Works for me.

I put Johnson just to be a bit different. But after thinking it over a bit more, Burrows should be the guy.

If the letter is given to the best leader and someone to set an example on and off the ice, from all accounts it has to be Ryan Johnson.

Ryan Johnson is all heart and class.

Steve Ott is a alternate in Dallas is he not? I guess Burrows could be one as well.

Because the league doesn't really recognize Luongo as the captain, the team needs to name 3 alternates.

I couldn't decide and voted Burrows, but now that I think about it I think that Johnson would be a good choice.
