Among those names, 4 of them have little chances to make the playoffs, any chance we can get one at the deadline IYP?
Bouwmeester
Ohlund
Boynton
Beauchemin
In that order.
Bouwmeester maybe at Deadline
Ohlund Maybe at Deadline
Boynton Deadline blockbuster
Beauchemin no way UFA only.
Zubov MAAAAAAAAYBE but unlikey

i say Beauchemin ; With Markov , Komisarek and Hammer that are going to make a lot of $$$$$ , i don't think that Habs will have the money to add Bouwmeester . This last is going to be the first target of the GMs and you can be sure that few of them are going to give him big fat overpaid offer
We will need to sign Komisarek, and with Gorges playing how he is we have a good top 4. If anything O'Byrne should be more mature and ready, Yemelin may come over and with Weber probably in the mix we have our 7 dmen and maybe Carle/Subban/McDonagh/Belle getting a cup of coffee as well.
We will probably trade Halak and bring up Denis before the trade deadline to address a need on the backend or offensive end.
We have too many UFA's and forward spots to fill next season over defense spots.
Bouwmeester or Ohlund.I really like Ohlund and he would be great for a 2-3 year deal. Our top 4 would be insane and with Gorges and a rookie or Bouillon we would be top notch back there
Dandenault and Brisebois are gone
However I don't see Gainey going after a Defenceman this summer maybe this year at the deadline but IMO I really think Weber will start the year in Montreal next year

At the rate he's going this year (i guess we'l have much more info after the WJC) i woudn't be too surprised if the Habs woukld bring PK Subban with the club a little faster then expected, now there's 1 who could really use Hammer as a mentor.

Only way we spend big money on a guy like Bouwmeester is if we lose Komisarek. I don't think we can commit big bucks on another defenceman. And with Gorges playing so well and ALOT of young defenceman all coming at the same time, we'll need spots for them. Subban, Weber, Emelin and McDonagh could all possibly be ready to play next year with also the possibility of Carle and Valentenko. Thats alot of players for 1 or 2 spots on the bottom pairing. If the Habs decide to trade O'Byrne, it opens up a spot but I would guess they would do so with a plan in head (maybe keeping Bouillon...just saying).
I think everyone (or most atleast) are concern about adding a top 4 defenceman on the team this year and rightly so but we can't unfortunetly commit long term to a 4th high paid defenceman. Let's not forget the prospect of seing the cap droping significally in two years time where Markov and Hamrlik will still be under contract for a last year at 11.25mil$ combine.
w/ Weber/Carle/Subban in the wings I think we'll have to stand pat. Along with O'B having another year of experience and McDonut being close to the AHL..
Well, it all depends on the contract we give Komisarek. He CANNOT make the same as Markov, so I'd expect <= 5.5M. However, if Lang, Kovy, Dandenault, Kostopoulos, Brisebois, Begin and Bouillon are let go as I think they will, that gives us a ton of money to play with (15.528M in fact). Plus, Hamrlik will only have two years left on his contract.
The reason you'd want to get rid of Hamrlik is due to the fact that Carey Price will be an RFA in summer '10. At this point, Markov will only have one year left on his contract as well.
Anyways, lots of extrapolating, but hey, it's fun.
