It applies to all players who have played in Europe except those that have been loaned by their club. However, there's nothing in the rule about playing in the AHL.

Quote:
13.23 In the event a professional or former professional Player plays in a league outside North America after the start of the NHL Regular Season, other than on Loan from his Club, he may thereafter play in the NHL during that Playing Season (including Playoffs) only if he has first either cleared or been obtained via Waivers. For the balance of the Playing Season, any such Player who has been obtained via Waivers may be Traded or Loaned only after again clearing Waivers or through Waiver claim.

Wow, please back this statement up. I don't think you'll realize how good of a GM Poile is until after he is gone.

Back it up, really? Do you know Freeman said not to sign a scorer in the offseason?

Poile has built a solid team, he gave us a great foundation, now, we need someone that can put the finishing touches on it to make us an actual contender.

So, looks like the Rags are looking to get rid of Prucha and Fritsche by putting them on waivers...

If your Poile, do you claim either?

Personally, I'd put a claim in on both - hoping to get one - and work from there. We would need no additional roster move to add one player since we are currently at 22 players on our NHL roster, but it closes the door for the time being on Milwaukee recalls without an IR stint or waivers for someone.

I would claim both. Smithson would be a guy I would be willing to release if it came down to it.

I'd try and claim them, wasn't Prucha a 30+ scorer two years back?

Good luck with that. We just signed Smithson to a two-year contract extension before the season started. Why he did this, I have no clue, but he did it...

I would claim Prucha if I had to claim one of the two, based solely on his past performances with the Rangers, and hope and pray he finds his finish again.

I have no proof but I suspect this is correct. radulovs peculiar circumstance hasnt really happened. I believe the intent of the rule is to keep NHL teams from poaching unsigned euros in midseason to fill a need for an injury or such.

If Cal O'Reilly plays in the NHL, it won't be in a Predators uniform.

Especially with the emergence of Santorelli this year along with Spaling.

all the rumors indicate that the Rangers do indeed need to clean out some trash to make room for Sundin. I wonder what Poile is doing right now...
