ESPN: Sathers genius damage control

My title not theirs, but quite clever if true...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3761075

Quote:
A well-placed hockey industry source told ESPN.com on Wednesday evening there was a rumor percolating that Avery's old team, the New York Rangers, were interested in dealing defenseman Michal Rozsival and his four-year, $20-million deal to Dallas in exchange for Avery. The source suggested Avery would then be sent to the Rangers' AHL affiliate in Hartford in order to free up cap space to allow the Rangers to make a serious run at unrestricted free agent Mats Sundin

Send Avery to Hartford for medical reasons "anger management" treatment. Have him sit this season out ( or bring him in at the end run if there's room)

Removes Rosys cap hit and you dont have to show any of Seans...

For those who dont know, Dallas has no AHL team and I guess just loans players to other NHLs AHL teams. But none of those teams want Avery...

I'm sorry but Sather would be a retard if he does that.

I for one, would LOVE to have Avery back but not in those conditions.

A) We get significant compensation for helping Dallas (for example a good prospect or a really good draft pick).

B) Let Dallas buy Avery out and then we sign him for like 1M a year. With what Dallas is buying Avery out at and us giving him 1M a year. That would pretty much equal what is contract is worth now.

Who wouldn't want Avery on a 1M cap hit?

I think Avery may be more trouble than he's worth right now, but if we're going to make a deal for him, I'd prefer to move Redden before Rosey. I'd also want to see more from Potter before annointing him as a 6th d-man on this team.
