Easily the oilers IMO. Cogliano is younger and better than Vermette and has a better contract situation. Lee and Shremp are pretty much a wash. And the 1st from Ottawa is SJ's first I think which should be higher than Edm.
However, Martin loves Vermette and has a boner for dmen, so he may value the Sens package more.

I'd assume it would be Ottawa's own selection in the 1st round. SJ's has pretty much the value of a 2nd rounder...
They'd most likely take Edmonton's over Ottawa's. I hope that isn't the case though. I don't really want Bouwmeester, and I want Cogs to stay in Edmonton.
I would hate to see Cogs go....
And we do not need $22 million wrapped up in our Top 4 dmen (assuming a $6.5mil+ contract for Bouw).
This only works with us shipping out one of Souray or Visn. Quite frankly these players are having a season as good as Bouws and so I would not want to give up on some of our young talent just to get Bouw.
IMO it won't be Cogliano, more likely Pouliot or Brodziak.
Also, why would Edmonton even want Bouwmeester at this point? Visnovsky and Souray are both making 6+ million and locked up long term, and Gilbert and Grebeshkov are both young and doing well on the 2nd paring.
Ottawa could definitely use him, and that package seems very fair (assuming it's SJ's 1st round pick)
Vermette's value is insanly low on HFBoards right now because he is in a slump but just like every player does every year, he will get on a hotstreak and even it out. Signed to a bargain contract, he is a terrific two-way player, great faceoff man, exceptional in his own zone, fast, physical etc..... and Lee is a much better prospect than Schremp. The firsts should only be about 10 picks apart if it is the SJ one but if I am Ottawa and they say only for the OTT Pick, Lee and Vermette I hang up the phone

That makes absolutely no sense, how does a 1st round pick despite being 25th-30th have the value of a 2nd rounder? I think you mean to say it has about the value of a very high 2nd round pick (31st-32nd)
Pierre McGuire on TEAM 990 reported Higgins+Pacioretty+1st as possible, I'd take this one over both of those.
McGuire speculated that is what it would cost, there's nothing out there to suggest that's a deal that might actually happen.
Personally, I don't even think McGuire's speculation makes any sense. Nobody will know what the cost is until the bidding actually starts like 4 months from now.
I think NJ should make a play for him. That team is crying out for a #1 dman and they can afford to re-sign him. IMO they would easily win the East if they got him. Green, Bergfors, and 1st should get it done.

I get the feeling that Florida wants an NHL forward as the primary return for J-Bo. They already have unproven forwards like Bergfors and I don't think they're that far off from being a playoff team--obviously dealing J-Bo does hurt on that front. Vermette, Cogliano, and I was thinking Lupul would make for more attractive tradebait.
