I doubt it. He hasn't played in 2 weeks and it was specifically said it would take him a little time to get back into game shape so my guess is he doesn't play until this weekend. Then again, I think the Rivs are pretty desperate for defensive help so perhaps he gets inserted into the lineup even if he's not quite fully back into game shape. I would consider it a pleasant surprise if Cole plays for the Rivs tomorrow - a more realistic debut would be this weekend.

For the guys who get to watch Peoria on a regular basis, what would you say is the main reason why Eller's finding the back of the net more often as the season winds down? Do you think his shot has improved as the season has progressed, is he on a better line now, etc...?

Pelletier and Eller have developed some chemistry along with Armstrong and Junland. Those 4 players are quite often on the ice at the same time.

But, imo, it was Pelletier that Eller needed. They're both skilled.

Unfortunately, that doesn't matter. Even though they're tied for 8th in the conference, how the AHL playoffs work, at least in the Western Conference, is that the top 4 teams of each division make the playoffs, not the top 8 of the conference. Peoria is still 6 pts behind 4th place Milwaukee in the West Division, currently out of the playoffs, even though they're tied in pts with a game in hand with the 4th place team in the North Division, the Manitoba Moose.

In the Eastern Conference, since one of the divisions has 8 teams with the other having 7, it is possible for more than 4 teams in the division that has 8 teams to make the playoffs but that's not how it works in the Western Conference...at least not anymore. That IS how it worked in the WC in previous years when the West Division had 8 teams but it's different this season. You can thank the poor management and eventual collapse of the Iowa Chops for taking the West Division from 8 teams to 7 this season.

Rivs losing 4-2 at the beginning of the third. Junland just got in his first fight in NA Seemed pretty short.

Also, Cole is playing with Junland on what I assume to be the first pairing.

Glad to see Cole jumping right in.

The Rivs are 5 points back from 4th place in the Central Division and they play Milwaukee twice more, which is a great thing for Peoria if they win them both.

BTW, Danny Richmond is a -8 in 11 games since the trade to Rockford.

Did anyone find a stream for the games this weekend? I listened friday but missed the saturday and sunday games. I can't determine what side Cole is playing on. I know on the PP he's playing next to Junland but is Cole being intentionally used on his offside at ES as well?

They play only 80 games in The AHL and Peoria has only 6 games left and they're 3 points back. Luckily, they play the team they're chasing twice, unfortunately, however, both games are @Milwaukee. Those games are obviously crucial. We want those guys to succeed because that means some of our prospects are getting tons of pressure-packed experience.

Fitting that the Predators affiliate is in the process of ending the Rivermens season. 3-0 Admirals late in the 3rd.

What was with the odd start time by the way?

I can't wait to see the infusion of our top-ranked prospect-pool into the Peoria lineup in the coming seasons. There's no excuse to finish 5th in that division and miss the playoffs.

Expect a major shake-up in Peoria next season.

No excuse at all. They waited too long to dump Wagner and Richmond. Also, The Rivs' bottom two lines do not match up well across the league. They waited too long to make changes and it cost them. I question some of Peoria GM Kevin McDonald's personnel decisions. The Pelletier trade was good for Peoria. I'll give him that.

Besides Cole, Pietrangelo and McRae, who else could join Peoria next year?

Jake Allen?

They still have to sign these players first, but Shattock, Schultz, Livingston, and Nigro would also be elligible. I'm wondering if the Blues are going to bring over any of their European talent. Shkotov was mentioned before. I wonder if they are done with Lemtyugov or have any interest in Semin, Nikitin, or Alexandorv coming over. Andronov may still be a year or 2 away, but who knows.

With Plymouth just being eliminated by Windsor, McRae may join Peoria for the remaining few games to get his feet wet. He finished with 15 pts in 9 gms and was +7.

from pjstar.com

Peoria signed three players from the junior ranks on Thursday afternoon. The newcomers are:

* Andrew Aggozino, a 5-foot-9, 185-pound center who led Niagara in the Ontario Hockey League with 37 goals, 29 assists and a +15 rating in 66 games.

* David Stich, a 6-2, 215-pound defenseman from the Czech Republic who was captain of Montreal's team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he had 6 goals, 17 assists, 83 penalty minutes and a +12 rating in 47 games. Stich played four games with AHL Hartford last season.

* Matt Fraser, a 6-2, 210-pound left wing for Kootenay of the Western Hockey League, who was the WHL Eastern Conference Humanitarian of the Year, and scored 32 goals with 24 assists, 117 penalty minutes and a +20 rating in 65 games.
