The Rivermen are expecting center Brett Sonne (concussion), defenseman Brett Ponich (lower body injury), defenseman Mark Cundari (concussion) and enforcer Anthony Peluso (concussion) to be available when action resumes Monday night. ...
See Fairchild played in the NHL. Did he earn it or was just next in line after all the injuries? I see he is a +21 in the AHL. Is that a mis-print? He was always a solid offensive d guy but if he is playing that well in his own end he should be a nice find for you guys.

Both. He was next in line after injuries, but also earned his way up to that spot. He looked good.
Came here to ask about him.
(comes back after a week...sees no activity...) That good huh? (Backs away slowly)
There's been nothing to report because Grachev was up with StL as a healthy scratch. He just got sent back to Peoria. Will have a better idea after 3 games in 3 days stretch here.
Peoria Rivermen goaltender Ben Bishop was named AHL Player of the Week on Monday.
The fourth-year goaltender turned in a 2-0-0 weekend with a 0.50 goals-against and a .986 saves rate.
He notched his league-leading sixth shutout of the season and his weekend efforts included extending a shutout sequence to 134 minutes, 14 seconds.
Bishop, meanwhile, has pushed his way into the top 5 among AHL goaltenders with a 2.17 goals-against. He is tied for the AHL lead in wins (17), second in saves rate (.932) and a runaway leader in shutouts (6).
I like that we have some depth developing down there!
You think Cole will be in Peoria next year?
I think Cole will probably be ready for the NHL full-time next year but if the Blues continue to play great through the playoffs I could see both Colaiacova and Jackman back next year and Russell and Huskins or another one-year vet filling out the blueline.
If they don't sign both Jackman and Carlo, Cole is probably a lock to be in St. Louis.

I think Jax is a lock to be resigned. Cola is a little more iffy. Not because he has played bad (quite the contrary), but his injury history has to be considered. Is having a guy thats out of the lineup an average of 20 games a season a good player to continue to rely on? Not sure.
As for Cole, I think the Blues will either commit to him or moving as a means to improve the club. He is at the point where he needs to start consistently playing games.

Just think Armstrong and Hitchcock put a real premium on experience for defensemen. These guys aren't about developing players in the NHL - they want to win Stanley Cups.
I could see them signing Carlo to a reasonable two-year deal and let Cole spend one more year in Peoria.
Don't think they trade Cole. He has too much potential and wouldn't bring back his true value in a trade. Cole hasn't proved he's ready for the NHL yet, but he's very close.
If Carlo leaves, Cole probably wins the job in camp. If Carlo stays, as you say, he'll get hurt at some time and Cole will play. I'm a big fan of Cole - I think he will be in St. Louis for a long time.
Stats aren't that impressive: 9gp 1g 1a 2pts -3(+/-)
Only attended a couple of those games, but he used his size well, no one could get him off the puck, etc. Hoping he gets it going more on the offensive side. Playing mostly 2nd line and getting PP time I recall.
But Allen has quietly put up a 2.34 goals-against average and .930 saves percentage since Jan. 8. In the 15 games he has appeared in since then, the Rivermen have won nine.
