Pretty right on so far. They seem to be skating much better than last night, but we have to understand that Edmonton is a faster team than the Flames.

Kind of frustrating that none of our defenseman can keep the puck in on the PP..

I'm going to throw this out there:

On the powerplay, assuming we're facing the opponent's net, have Kreps play on the left faceoff circle; put Frolik on the right one. Have McCabe man the point close to Frolik, and Weiss man the other side, close to Kreps. Then put Campbell (or maybe even Stewart) in front of the net for deflections and rebounds.

Good period

I didn't expect this kind of energy. I guess this team has really changed

Frolik is playing a good game so far

Impressive goal by Kreps. He loves the backhand just like Rusty. He's gota be one of the most under-rated Panthers we have.

I've thought that for a long time. Given the proper linemates, he could be a decent second-line (~15g and 30-35a) player, when he reaches his prime. I don't expect his stats to ever wow anyone, but he has some offensive upside, and he has a lot of little things going for him (e.g. defensive awareness and faceoffs).

I'd also like to take this opportunity to retract my previous criticism of Peltonen; there's nothing about this game that made me rethink that stance, but it's been on my mind for a while, and he has more than redeemed itself. (It's only fair to recognize a solid effort when it's there.)

Calgary intermission report:

"This Boston team is for real. Kessell continues his point streak. Chara has like a 19 foot reach. I dont think Atlanta can even win an inter squad game "

I thought that since last season. Thats why, when we get our guys back, I said our lines should be:

Booth - Weiss - Frolik
Stillman - Kreps - Horton
CPR Line
whoever

Good enough to get us in the playoffs me thinks.

yeah - excellent first. we've been a bit tighter in the neutral zone and we're skating better, have better puck support and puck movement and we're getting guys in on the forecheck quickly. calgary's having a tough time of it and has turned the puck over. i don't think they're slow but i think our forwards have done a better job tonight backchecking and slowing them down. notice how many times we've clogged their breakouts and, on a couple of occasions, actually gotten a turnover out of it.

it's remarkable that this is the same team. very different opponent and different approach. though last night's game was quick, i didn't really feel like we were in our element. not sure if we didn't have our legs or what but tonight the boys are competing. great to see.

During the intermission, they were talking about the Sens, and how Murray needs to make a move and a statement, and they said that could include one of the big three. They also mentioned Bouwmeester to Ottawa as well. I think the longer the Sens drop, the better our chances are to pry away Spezza from them. We are still a top line center away from being a real good hockey club, and I think Spezza would be perfect for centering Horton.
