This makes NO sense whatsoever. Tampa confuses me to no end.

I fully expect Sather to make a claim at least. I'd be very disappointed if the Rangers don't even try to do so.

At the worst that trade has worked out well for both teams. At best it was a clear cut win for the Lightning.

As for Hutchinson for Tukonen, again it sure wasnt a loss for the Lightning. Hutchinson was doing nothing but taking up roster space and cap room for us. Again glad hes working out for you but it certainly wasnt a loss for us. I would consider that a tie for both teams since it accomplished what both teams wanted.

And all that aside, Lundin is still better then Hutchinson...so my previous comment still stands.

uhh yeah Dallas definetly won the Richards trade... they traded 2 people who weren't really contributing anything and a backup goaltender (glad he's doing well for you btw) for a star player who was one of the main contributors in the best playoff run for the stars in 6 or 7 years.

oh, and as I mentioned earlier Hutchinson has had 4 or 5 solid games with Dallas. That's 4 or 5 more then Tukkonen will ever play for Tampa, the guy has serious work ethic problems

I'd say that Dallas trade is pretty even overall. If anything its in Tampa's favor.

Smith has been much better than Turco this season, and for an even worse team(the Stars are pretty bad this season). I think time will show Smith is the better goaltender than Turco. Halpern was the Lightning's third best player behind Vinny and Marty after the trade last season, he was producing offensively and was playing his usual great two way game. And Jokinen has really been one of our better forwards this season, hes developed into a center now and is an excellent faceoff man. Add that with his shootout skills and thats been a pretty productive trio that the Bolts got for Richards...not to mention the immense cap relief.

Dallas is in last place in the West with Richards and little to no wiggle room under the cap...the trade made both teams better I think, but right now its kinda hard to say that Tampa didn't win that trade because Smith has been great for, lets face it, a very bad Tampa team this season.

Smith is 5-10 so far this year but has a respectable GAA and SV% ill give him that. Jokinen has a mere 10 points so far in 29 games...Avery has 10 points so really i wouldn't brag to much about Jokinen. With Jokinen he he well known for turning into caspur during the 2nd half of the season so be prepared. Halpern is a good player but i don't see him being the way he was before the injury. So basically the trade comes down to Smith and B. Richards...Ill take a Cup champ and a Conn Smythe winner over 5 Mike Smith's and that is saying alot since i really like Smith.

Point out two major errors:

Smith will be better than Turco? Pfffft...lets see Smith accumulate 175 wins in 5 years and maintain an average GAA of 2.23 and a .911 SV%. Then maybe Smith can be mentioned in the same league as Marty.

Dallas has cap money to spend actually..Morrow is gone for the season so his cap hit is available. Zubov may need another surgery on his hip now and he has been put on the IR. If surgery is needed it may be career ending since he is just a year or two away from retiring anyway. Also if surgery is needed he also will go on LTIR which will free up even more money.

Hey, Homer, Boucher is better than Sydor, you lost that one.

Screw Hutchinson and Tukonen, who really cares about that ?

Coming from a Habs fan i will take that statement for what it is worth =

Boucher is just as bad as Sydor is...Boucher is surrounded by more talent at this very moment than Sydor is.

Actually we do....Hutch is playing in the NHL and well Tukonen is working the drive through window at Wendy's with Niinimaa.

I actually think we lost the Richards trade. Smith is just what we could be using right now. He played really well here and could be pushing Turco to play better

I hope the Stars claim Lundin. We pick 3rd if he gets that to us i think so pass Islanders and Thrashers!!!

My thoughts exactly. Bury Weaver in the minors. Lundin would be a good addition to the Blues blueline.

In defense of Turco you could stick H. Lundqvist in net and he stats would be a tad bit better. Our defense has been horrid!

another day, another stupid lightning move. Easily the most incompetent front office in professional sports, and that says a lot with the Detroit Lions around.

Lundin was sent down because he did not invest in Barrie's resort. Supposedly, Malik is an investor. that's why he is here.
