It has become a routine for him to get injured..Is he becoming injury prone a la Gaborik?..or is it just bad luck??

With all the "supposed rumors" about a trade in the works 'cause there was sooooo many scouts yesterday, can't wait to see which scouts will still be here for Tampa. Or which scouts won't be here.....might start other rumors as far as who were interested in Higgins.....or.....Dandenault....

Since he has two seasons of 80 plus games played out of 3, plus this year (NHL). I'm not ready to toss him into the "injury prone" column just yet.

Yes, he is the most injury prone on our team IMO.

I can't wait to see how this team perform without Mr. Higgins. My guess ? Latendresse will perform better and will easilly fill in Higgins spot.

I said before and I will repeat it again, please Bob, ship this guy out of this town while he still have some value.

True, but we haven't completed a 4th season, and we don't know how long he's going to be out for.

I'm willing to give Higgins a bit more time before I consider him injury prone. It wasn't very long ago that Koivu was considered injury prone *knocks on wood*.

Outside of Laraque, I don't think theres anyone that Lats can outperform.

I was asking myself the same question this morning. I mean, the guy trains like a beast every summer and is one of the most fit Canadiens. All that work out should cut on the small injuries, but he still manages to stretch his groin. It may only be bad luck, but still, I guess it is legitimate to ask ourself the question.

We don't even know how long Higgins will be out for, if at all. Last year he played 82 games, it seems every second year he's been hurt. Hopefully he won't be out for too long, if at all. Someone before me mentioned Koivu used to be injury prone, and so was Richard. I'm not ready to call him injury prone yet, Colaiacovo he is not.

7 posts into the topic? I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in you, I expected at least a response within the first 5 posts.

To be honest, Lats was doing great with Tang/Koivu early this season when Higgins was injured again.

For the past 2-3weeks, Higgins was doing absolutely nothing and could have easily been the next player to be scratched if Carbs was serious about things.
So yea, I don't see what he was doing so well that Lats won't be able to do.

Lats was at least leading the team in Hits.

You don't go for a MRI if you're not injured.

anyone who gets hit the way he got hit is injury prone...best case scenario player sprains his elbow or shoulder mildly....ice it up for a couple of days and you are all good....worst case...his shoulder tendons get shattered and player is unable to lift stick without feeling the nuts and bolts holding his shoulder bones together for lack of tendons

And I still say Higgins is a valueable member of this team, because he still contributes even if he is not scoring.

No Lats fan has answered these questions;

1) If Lats is a better player than Higgins, why does he not play on the PP? Kill Penalties?

2) If Lats is a better player than Higgins, why doesn't any other GM want him; he certainly isn't part of any trade rumors.

3) If Lats is not scoring, what else does he bring to the team?

My guess, he will be out of the NHL within 3 years IF he can't find a true niche on this team or any other team.

Seriously, you absolutely have the worst bias I've ever seen..

Higgins is no scorer, but he's good at everything else
