Let Giroux play the whole year in the AHL. Knuble has been playing great for us I thought and I hope they re-sign him in the off-season. Lupul I'm hoping turns it on and becomes the player he was before he got injured last season.
He will probably get a prank call saying that the Flyers will need him so suite up for the next game. Other than that, no calls from anyone really high up. At least not yet...
That's fine that Giroux's not getting a call. If he isn't going to get top six ice time in Philadelphia, it makes no sense to call him up. Let him dominate in the AHL first. He's had a taste of what it takes to make the big show, so let him crave it and let it sink in about what he needs to do to make the jump. It's really nice to be in a position where someone doesn't have to be rushed to make the lineup.

Grabovski is Cannon
Grabovski, really? You can't decide nicknames like this, Mike Richards is Cannon will never be replicated because it came out of nowhere and we weren't trying to make up a name.
As for the topic, for now no. Barring an injury to Nodl, Knuble, or Lupul RW is taken for the top 9 and we'd be stunting his development by putting him on the 4th. We're following the Don Luce program, letting him dominate at each level that he plays and spending a good amount of time in the AHL. It may take awhile but Luce has shown that it pays off.

I'd rather see Giroux play in the minors to get adjusted and work on his game than for him to try to play over his head for an extended period of time.
If he does get called up it would be to take Nodl's spot, not Lupul or Knuble. Knuble has been playing pretty well this year and despite Lupul's inconsistencies he's always good for a hot streak and he's proven he can put the puck in the net.
So until someone gets injured or the team gets into a scoring rut and Stevens decides he needs to change things up a little (which is certainly not the case now), Giroux will stay in the minors.
I would liek to see him get the whole year of devleopment unless there is a serious injury to a top-9 winger.
I am fine with Nodl. He gets the job done and carter had done wgood with him and upshall. Nodl is a great role player who plays good defense and has a high hockey IQ
Lupul and Knuble haven't been exactly lighting the league on fire.
Thanks for the slam on lupul and knuble...2-0 Flyers and you guessed it...they both score..You have the same effect on players like me.Slag em and they turn it up a notch..
Well I agree with most of the people that there's no sense in calling him up just to put him on the 4th line. And as long as the Flyers are doing fine I don't see why one would break up the roster as it is now. But Nodl seems to be a bit lost now that he's not playing on the Carter line, so maybe he could be replaced with Giroux. Or move Metropolit down to 4th and let Giroux play on the 3rd. Still, I guess there's no need for that yet and it'll be even tougher with Briere back. But if there's gonna be any injuries he could and should be called up, I guess, unless it's - again - just needing players for the grind line, such as Kalinski.
Nodl for giroux at this point. Giroux has proved himself in the AHL and he's gotta be rewarded for playing his ass off down there. He's simply too much of a talent to be left in the minors. Put him on third line duty's.
There is NO point in Giroux playing 4th line or few min a night. Who wants another Downie situation? Not I.
Leave Giroux in the AHL for the full year undisturbed. Bring him in next with JVR (who will be NHL ready) and then you have two young players ready to make an impact.
frankly i think he too small to play on a line with briere or upshall. which means the only option is with carter and hartnell. or we could just skate the new mites on ice and put all three of em out there. its a hell of a lot of speed.
The reason why Giroux didn't make the team in Camp, was becasue of his weakness along the wall and in puck battles. He has the offensive ability. But until he improves that aspect of his game, he will remain in the AHL.
I want him here instead of Nodl at the moment. Nodl is a team leading -11 in +-, and don't you say that +- isn't worth **** because everyone is on the bandwagon when briere's is rock bottom.
