10 reasons why sundin should sign with habs + link

no folks, this is not me writing down why mats should sign here, this article was written by a IIHF guy, and the article could be found on habsinsideout.com

good reading!

None of these are good reasons.

If he signs with Montreal, I'll be surprised.

i tend to disagree! the first 9 reasons are right on and the best smoked meat in the world part is just icing on the cake

edit: me too i will be surprised if he signs here, with our depth at center (except if saku is out for a long period of time) i drather go after an offensive top4 defenseman for the powerplay, instead of going after sundin

I just read that actually. Not a bad read at all. The only thing is the #13 issue. Would tanguay give up that number and would lapiere give up #40 for tanguay. We will know in a couple days I guess. I really think Sundin will put us over the top. Lets just hope he is not in it for the money.

RDS reports that he'll go to Vancouver unless a major move is made...

I guess Vancouver isn't his first choice but no other team interesting has the cap space to include him...

8. Wearing the C & H. He would be able to say this to his children in some years: “Look Tobias and Stina, this is the jersey daddy wore at the end of his career. It’s the most beautiful and sacred of all hockey jerseys. It’s really a piece of art, and it’s called ‘Le Saint Flanelle’. A cool guy named The Rocket wore it 50 years ago.”

Tobias and Stina?

We should compile a list of 10 reasons why Sundin is unlikely to sign with the Canadiens:
1) Montreal has no cap space
2) Vancouver is offering 10 million dollars
3) Sundin needs the 10 million dollars Vancouver is offering him for Poker Tournaments
4) Playing for the Canadiens is under the Quebec income taxes
5) Quebec media sucks!
6) He played for Quebec, and then Toronto, why the hell would he play for Montreal?
7) Bill 101
8) He doesn't like Smoked Meat
9) He doesn't like Poutine
10) He's looking for a place with cheaper alcohol prices so that he can save as much money for Poker Tournaments.

You are right. I don't think he will come also. But you may realize that the Habs will save a lot of $$$ with all these players on IR. Dandy's worth more to the Habs injured then bought out... Then there's Komi and Higgins who have and will also save some cash..

I'm not saying they can pay him more then Vancouver and if he's only in it for the $$$ then Vancouver will win hands down. But there were a few things on that list he left out which actually make more sense like:

1) The Habs are a class "A" organization.
2) Montreal is the closest thing to a European city in NA.
3) There are more restaurants than you can swing a stick at and spend your $$$$..
4) He's got a better chance at a cup with Montreal then Vancouver.

I can go on and add other positive things but these are to best off the top of my head...

Isn't it already signed, sealed and delivered since last July?
