Is Henrik Lundqvist the best shootout goaltender?

What do you say?

7W, 1L. 87.5% SV. Only let in 3 goals in 24 attempts. Without his performance in shootouts Rangers are smoked.

Here are the career leaders, sorted by Save percentage. Cut off of 17 shootouts, seems to be minimum for steady post-lockout starters, there are only a couple with less that have solid numbers (Theodore, Holmqvist, Denis)

Also of note is that Lundqvist once had a 25-save streak. nobody is really even close to that. (a couple at 16)

Lundqvist has also faced the most shots in the shootout, so that SV% is pretty impressive. So is Garon's, but does he have the consistency? 10 of his 16 wins came last season.

Garon for the win this time. Lundqvist is a much much better goalie but when it comes down to shootouts alone Garon is the winner. Getting a win or a lose in a shootout has as much to do with your shooters as it does the goalie, so SV% is the most important stat here. Garons is higher, numbers don't lie.

Holmqvist was amazing in shootouts, I dont know why but last season I had confidence that if it went to shootout there was a good chance of winning. This season Smith is great in the game, as soon as it hits the shootout he becomes utterly crap.

I wouldnt say he is the best but he was up there in shooutouts.

Lundqvist is probably the best in shootouts.

Yep. The Rangers just don't lose when it gets to the shootout. Brodeur's not too shabby either.
