Quincey vs Hunwick

Whos the better of the two impressive young defensemen?

Quincey isn't a rookie by NHL standards.

Yeah. I've haven't seen Hunwick play, so I can't comment on which is better anyway, but I can say Quincey has been great for LA. Solid all around, with a great, low, easy-to-deflect shot that he lets loose any time a lane opens. Putting up pretty big minutes for us (behind only Doughty) and playing well every game.

Quincey, Hunwick is very good and I'm not complaining about his future but Quincey's a great player who does pretty much everything.

The Bruins aren't in 1st place without Hunwick. He's their best skater on D, likes to join the rush, and makes a great outlet pass out of his zone. He's a very smart player and is always in good position defensively. He's not +14 for nothing, tied for the highest by a defenseman in the league.

If you notice, most players on Boston have a high +/-

Im not questioning his defensive ability but its a consequence of playing on a great defensive team at the moment more than anything.

Actually no. He's been very impressive, and his puck-moving skills are great. He went from an AHLer to #3 on the depth chart right now (With Ference and Ward injured, he's only behind Chara and Wideman). Of course, when Ference and Ward come back, he'll be knocked down a pairing, but he's been playing very well.

The next callup in line after Hunwick, Matt Lashoff, is a minus player. He's -3.

I think he may have surpassed Andrew Ference on the depth chart with his play. His emergence is huge for the Bruins.

Quincey also went from AHLer to #3 on our depth chart (#2 if you don't count Johnson whose on IR), is playing 22:13 TOI/G and is +6 (3rd behind O'Sullivan +9 and Stoll +7). Again, I'm not saying Quincey is better, I don't know and I didn't vote in the poll, just for the sake of the comparison.

What kind of minutes is Hunwick playing?

Edit:
Looked up the minutes myself: 16:51. Does he get PP and PK time?

Yes. I haven't seen much of Quincey so I'm not going to vote but Hunwick rules.

Last 10 games he's been getting about 20 minutes a game.

I would like to know more about Quincey but Hunwick has been very impressive. Without him they'd either be hurting or they'd have traded for another defenseman, he's saved their ass with Ference, Ward, and for a time Wideman all out at once.
