I think for me it has to be between Pens and Sharks

Depends what you mean by capacity.

Like the best offensive team or the team with the potential to have the best offense in terms of the players they have.

I'd go with the Flyers. They have great offensive depth all around.

I refuse to pick one or the other, but easily Detroit and SJ.

Datsyuk
Zetterberg
Hossa
Franzen
Holmstrom
Fippula
Hudler
Lidstrom
Rafalski

Not to mention their pluggers who can score like Cleary, Draper and Maltby. The only other team I see with that kind of depth is, well, SJ.

SJ has a few more at the magic round numbers of 15 and 20, but the Wings have a bit more depth that are right on the cusp. Wings have 6 with 20+, but have 2 more at 19. Wings only have 8 players with 15 or more points but 12 that have 13+.

Homer vote for the Pens since I'm shameless, but it could damn well be San Jose.

I just made a new thread, sorry Octopi, but there have been about 3 threads like this already for some reason limiting the public to voting for like 5 teams when there are arguably 10 or so teams who could take the title.

Actually, I wanted to just go with the Pens, Sharks and Wings for the "Holy carp, these guys can blow you out of the water" factor, but thought I would include the Caps and Bruins just in case.

Sharks followed by the Hawks then the Wings. I don't see how the Hawks aren't even on this poll: they've got the third highest goals for per game and they just got FIVE goals from their bottom six on Sunday.

I put the Hawks over the Wings mainly because Detroit has been scoring goals more consistently whereas the Hawks have been exploding in spurts. More variance = scarier in my book.

All those players you mentioned = 164 points

crosby + malkin = 90 ... more than half of your 12 best players added together, thats probably why montreal isnt in this poll

Pens are still a team of two players. If even one of them misses an extended period of time, I guarantee their GF gets cut in half. That is not the making of the most offensive team in the league.

Sharks are basically still being driven by Thornton (just ask Devin "The new Cheechoo" Setoguchi).

Wings are have more even scoring, but they still have their "haves" (ie. Hossa, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Holmstrom and Franzen) and their terrible "havenots" (ie. Filpulla, Hudler, Cleary, Maltby, etc).

Caps have Ovechkin and an overachieving Semin.

My guesses are going to be off the board, mainly being in terms of scoring by committee.

1) Canucks
2) Canadiens
3) Flyers
4) Oilers
5) Maple Leafs

The Pens. Need only to look at last night against the Islanders to see why. Crosby and Malkin hardly got involved in that game either, the vast majority of the scoring was all secondary resulting in 9 goals (10 goals if you count that one that Sykora scored that was whistled after it was already in goal).
