Hamisarek!!!!

When Komi comes back I want him to replace O'byrne, and keep the Markov Gorges pairing. Hammer Komi as a shut down D to make up for the fact we have no shut down forward line...and roll them against the top lines. The hits will be incredible!

I say... keep the Hammer and the saurus together for situations like when we need energy

But in facts, the Markov-Gorges pairing is surprising

No please!! If Gorges play with Markov, he will want 5 millions per year for his next contract!! See what happened with Komi, a decent defenceman who is considered an all star defense because he plays with markov who makes him look good.

I love both but they wouldn't do much if they played without Markov. Why not Markov and Hamrlik. Komi is an all-star defenseman now, he could play with Gorges

I suppose that Komi's monster checks are nothing but Markov's produce?

Is he some kind of a mind manipulator that entice Komi to hit like crazy?

Your argument makes no sense... if we have to pay whoever plays with Markov more, Gorges should stay for now since we just got him under contract for a few years. Komisarek is UFA so we should see how good he is on his own to better assess his value. I agree that he's overrated and I hope we don't end up overpaying him longterm.

May as well use him

They should at least try it. Markov and Gorges have been playing well and we haven't found anybody to play with Hamrlik. It's a no-brainer.

I agree, why fix it when it works? Teams will absolutely HATE playing Hammer and Komi. Our own Phillips/Volchenkov pairing.

very good idea, gorges has stepped up and he looks really confident playing with markov

while hamisarek would obviously be shutdown city

the only slight problem i could see is, some tougher forward lines like to pick on markov and komi running with him usually puts and end to it, as much as i like gorges, i dont want him throwing down or choking jarko against the glass as funny as it would be

As long as O'byrne goes to Hamilton...

I was at the bell center yesterday. There was a 2 on 1 at a time and my friend yelled : Oh **** it's O'Byrne ! and he fell on the ice at a critical time for the 2nd time time of the game. I defended him in the past but he looks as confident as a young nerd in bed with his first girlfriend....

My number one wish still is to see a top 4 defenseman join our ranks by the deadline, but if we fail doing so, I actually wouldn't mind seeing Gorges with Markov and Komo with the Hammer.

Hammer and Komo would be great, I think we could see Hammer picking up his offense a little bit as well with Komo backing up any gaffs he makes from pinching in.

I agree I've benn saying this last year when Gorges first replaced Komi.
Komiserek Hammerlik would be a formidable duo ( a true shut down pairing that can physically punish the other teams best players)

They tried the Hammer-Komi (hammer-commie, well there's an image from the past) pairing last year and Komi looked out of place. I guessed they would need some time to adjust. This would probably give good arguments for the Habs to show Markov makes any pairing better (not that Hammer doesn't, but not on the same level) and effectively having to pay Komi less on his next contract. Something like a bit over double of what he makes right now if he does agree to that.

True, but I'd value the team winning more than saving dollars on a player's contract. Still, it's not a bad idea. A stay-at-home pairing for shutting down offense. The only thing is that the Markov/Gorges pairing wouldn't be as solid defensively as it was when it was Markov/Komisarek...which may not be a bad thing since we would then play Markov less and not wear him out. Worth a shot for a game or two, anyhow

this is awesome we should pair Breezy up with Markov thus raise Breezy trade value up and land Lidstrom. Brilliant. You get on the phone with Carbs, i will talk to Gainey. Wait a minute i don't think Carbs will go for that. He loves Patrice. Okay make it Dandenault or OB.
