It's not about the money. The Panthers have offered Bouwmeester $7 million. He wants to be on a winner.

lil devil

to get sundin for this year the rangers need to move 2.5 million and that is it
Sundin will only sign for $3 million? If so, there would be alot of playoff contending teams able to move that little in salary to get Sundin.

Understand that Gomez has one of the worst contracts in the league and a cap hit of 7.3 million for the next 6 years including this season.

He has --------- value. No team would take him off of waivers.
I can definitely tell that you've joined only a month ago, and I'll leave it at that.

And no, don't reply with "I may have joined only a month ago, but I've been a hockey fan longer than you've been alive" nonsense.

Right, because no team out there would offer more than a 70pt center on a terrible contract, an underachieving winger and likely a late first round draft pick for J-Bouw.

Just like the Ducks last season, no one is going to do the Rangers any favors.

Anyone from a NYR standpoint who would turn this down would be crazy; anyone who would be OK with it from a Florida stand point would also be just as crazy.

This deal makes no sense and would never happen. Bouw is a hell of a talent and if Florida HAS TO trade him, they will ask for a young forward and picks, not someone over priced.

Can any winners afford him?

Sure the Canucks can get it all on the cheap. Rangers in a tough spot tring to clear cap space.
