They just spent the last 20 minutes or so talking about the moves the Rangers are going to have to make.

Having said that, the Rangers, Sundin's agent and Sundin cannot verify the source until the cap space has been made. Once the Rangers have made their moves (they were talking about Redden but weren't sure on the implications of him being a UFA in his first year of the contract) so it is going to get interesting in NY in the next 48 hours before the trade freeze.

Cheers.

I hope we get Sundin and move Redden like I said and put Avery in Russia.

I can dream can I?

Trade Kalinin for a 2nd or 3rd..that should do it hopefully.
Why would anyone pay a second rounder for him? If he brought back a 7th rounder, it would be excellent.

Assuming we dump Redden or Roszival I wonder how our defense will be like

I know Redden and Roszival are overpaid and all that but whom from the minors can do or replace the minutes that redden and roszival do. I would hope Potter/Sangs would be ready to make the jump

were not gonna trade rozy for avery, its not happening.

most likely korpedo is going down to hartford, probly waive prucha, maybe move kalinin, chances are to be honest most likely rozy and redden arent going anywhere.

maybe waive fritsche.

and the rangers most certainly are not moving drury or gomez.

Assuming Rosy is traded:

Girardi-Redden
Staal-Mara
Kalinin-Potter/Fahey/Trade

Honestly I don't think anyone will want to pick up Prucha. With his salary and production, I don't think anyone would pick him up.

He's in the last year of his deal, the Rangers have already paid almost half of his contract for this year, and there's a chance a team could get some production out of him. I don't think he has absolutely negative trade value

You guys might as well trade to Vancouver Canucks, it is really the perfect team to trade to. Trade Gomez or Drury to them, which ever one you guys least like.

No point, really. Was just wondering why Sang was singled out among prospects if he's the most ready one.

So I guess we are back to the ways of bringing old men to the team!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder how long it will be after he does not gel with his wingers we start hearing how chemistry takes time. Gomez is still searching for somebody to gel with, Drury too. Dubbi lost the one guy he was good with to a Russian team. Betts gels with Orr and whomever but they have like 4 goals on that line all season. So basically we might have 4 centers who dont have any wingers they can play with.

If I were a GM of a bottom feeder without any real top-6 forwards, I would take a flier on Prucha. He'd have every chance in the world to succeed on such a team. Either he'll score or the team will get an even higher draft pick. Either way it would work.

And for bottom feeders, the cap is usually not a problem.

Would Rags consider Redden and Rissmiller for Kesler, Burrows and Ohlund? If Ohlund won't waive his NTC then Vancouver could make it Kesler, Burrows and Vancouver's 2009 first round pick.

Free Agency seems to be like pork is with politicians. If you are a politician long enough, Republican or Democrat, you will eventually want to tax and waste money. If you are a GM long enough, you will buy old free agents.

I think signing Sundin is a great idea. Why?
First, it shakes up this lousy team.
Second, it requires one of our large contracts to be moved.
Third, Sundin will only sign a one year deal meaning that his contract is off the books after this season.
Fourth, we will have more cap space in the offseason to sign Zherdev and Dubinsky.

DZ is legit. Saw him a number of times in Oshawa and I was very upset to see Boston pass on him at the draft. He is a puck-moving defensemen that the Ranger forwards are going to love having them feed the puck...just ask Tavares.

Cheers.
