When I heard it on the Sports update on team 1040 I wasn't sure if I was hearing it right. This makes the Canucks a contender.

Not backing away from the contract and going to a different route

best thing about this:

next time someone says - when was the last time a big name free agent signed in Vancouver, we won't have to mention Messier anymore

This is a great move for the Canucks. They have become a contender the second this signing was announced.

Amen to that, hopefully his decision will inspire other players to lean with the nucks' JayBo anyone?

Unless this turns into a Messier situation.

I was seriously struggling to be the optimist near the end here, but I knew the Rangers just couldn't afford him, and that Vancouver was a lot more in consideration then many people thought.

Woooo!

Presser in 30 minutes on TSN.

OMFG! I take a shower, and then bus to work. By the time I sit down on my computer, the Sundin thread has grown by 250 posts! Without checking the tread, my hands trembling, I go to TSN.ca and see that Sundin is a Canuck.

I take it all back Mats, until you fail as as Messier did, I love you.

How many people on this board wanted to pull the offer or give Mats an ultimatum ala Pat Quinn?

Alas, it was Macke who first informed me of Sundin being a Canuck. I can never get that memory back now.

When my friend sent me the link, I opened it and thought "this has to be fake / photochopped page....then it actually set in after seeing more and more confirming news.

I'm enjoying this feeling right now.

Good job MG!

I love it, abso-reaking-lutely love it!!!

The only better feeling now, other than knowing Sundin is a Canuck, is the fact those 'experts' were so sure he would be a Ranger - oh, feel the burn McCown, Kyrpreos et al, hahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!

HOLY ****! This is amazing i'm so happy right now! The only thing now that could top this is a Stanley Cup win. And I think we're closer than ever.

We've got the complete line-up. No real weaknesses and I think we got a great chance to win a cup. I can't believe this is actually happening.

Wow, congratulations Canucks fans!

I really thought he was going to New York from all the things going on but I'm glad he chose Vancouver. I'm a Pens fan first but I've always been a supporter of Vancouver from the Trevor Linden days.
