Hey, I'll give the OP for making a Rangers trade thread without including Gomez, Rosival, or Prucha.

This could be possibly the most pointless trade ever. I just want to see how much it would need to take to get Rangers fans (including myself) to trade The King.
This could actually, no jokes, go down as one of, if not the WORST proposal I have ever seen on ANY message board, hockey, basketball or baseball related.

Sather: "Hey, Scott, how would you like to gut your franchise for Lundqvist?"
Howson: "I won't do it unless you give me Redden, Prucha, or Roszival."

I think this thread needs a little spice:

Mason will be as good as Lundqvist in 2 years.

Considering the Jackets already have Leclaire in goals, I wouldn't do Nash for Lundqvist straight up...

LOL Sather would pass out from lack of oxygen laughing at this.

Seriously, the love for young guys here is a little ridiculous.
Nash, a "legit superstar" who's never scored 70 points or led the Jackets to anything close to a winning season.
Brassard, a high pick who tore up the AHL and is playing very well so far... but "so far".
Mason, some rando goalie who's had a good first 15 games of his career.

for

Henrik, a Vezina finalist his first 3 years, an unquestioned top-3 NHL goalie with experience winning an SEL title as well as Olympic Gold as well as being literally the Rangers entire team.

I mean, I guess the implied value in an EHM sense, but it's mind bogglingly stupid.

Add in Nikolai Zherdev and Dubinsky and it might happen.

Ok, you moron. I proposed this knowing it was lobsided. I wanted to see what most Rangers thought it would take to get rid of Lundqvist. Stop looking at the original proposal (which I said in that post was retarded) and look at the fans in this thread who wouldn't do it from a Rangers POV.

get the **** off your high horse.

Then why don't you post this in the Rangers forum?

You posted it on the main trade boards so deal with the consequences and stop calling people morons who think this trade is garbage. Everyone, including you, thinks your original proposal is a joke. You threw this crap out there so deal with it.

Rangers would be insane to pass on this deal. Only the biggest homer in the world would.

Your so damn funny. Oh and by the way, Mason isn't just some random goaltender, he is/was one of the big time goaltender prospects coming into the NHL, and apparently his skill floor was higher than a lot of us would have thought.

You might want to familiarize yourself with the talent around the league before you chime in. Just a suggestion. Your labling of Mason as a "random goalie" is comical.

Lundqvist is one of my favourite goalies in the NHL but this is a massive over-payment by the Blue Jackets to get him. No Deal.

Wow. Brace yourself for more flaming from CBJ fans.

Mason, for one, is the Random goalie just named Rookie of the Month & a goalie we're going to see a lot more of in the future. Among other highlights, he was the goalie that ruined Ovechkin's recent 10 game point scoring streak (sorry about that CapitalsCup). He also made an awesome save robbing Wellwood of a tying goal in the most recent game against the Nucks.

Brassard was the previous Rookie of the Month and arguably the best CBJ prospect to come along since Nash.

Don't worry, I've already mentally repressed that.
