And not to downplay how poorly the Rangers did last night, but the Kings also played a really great game. They did everything except finish consistently

Staal and Rozy have been very good together. They have both taken their game to a different level since being paired. Staal playing more physical and Rozy not messing up nearly as much. (Rozy probably getting healthy too)

Rangers have a very good top pairing in Staal and Rozy. Rozy a little annoying with turnovers sometimes but he's generally very good.

After the game like last night Kings should consider the goaltending issue the priority.
We had a much better goalie, hence we've got two points.

Would be inappropriate to have Dustin Brown Mancrush thread on the Ranger board?

Yep, Kings played a damn good game. Frolov had like 2 or 3 chances to put it away but couldn't finish. Not to mention the chances the other Kings' players had.

Did they hit 3 posts, or was it more/less?

I was thinking the same thing. All he did was play the body well, chase guys in the corner, slowed Brown's advance a couple of times, made several good outlet passes from our zone (including that huge backhand airmailed to gomez across ice in the neutral zone)

Redden had a good game.

Frankly I didn't see anything that was too bad. He got caught chasing Brown on the PK and left Girardi out to dry in front of the net on the Kings first goal, but his play other than that was pretty solid.

Rozsival had a few turn-overs, but no doubt most fans will completely absolve him of those considering he scored 2 goals.

Staal was 95% excellent aside from that one move where Kopitar burned him and that missed check after Rozsival turned it over in our own end.

The whole game I was thinking to myself: "If the Rangers could just connect a few good passes...."

Two great passes led to the win.

The first from Dawes to Dru was a beauty. Then Staals perfect slider to Rozy.

Two really nice plays from a couple of our young guys. A nice way to end an otherwise frustrating exhibition from the Rangers.

Dawes had a nice game and shows flashes of what could be. The Rangers have to find a way to stick it out with him.

Dustin Brown was a hair from taking that game over by himself last night.

He's going to be the best captain the Kings have ever had, IMO.

Yeah, Kopitar and Brown are going to be one hell of a 1-2 punch for a long time.

Yeah, same one-timer from the same spot, hit net up high.

I remember being at that game. We saw the red light go on, and all of the sudden I was at the bottom of a pile.

The kid will hit anyone that isn't wearing a Kings jersey, altough it seems like he leads with the elbow in some of those hits.

[QUOTE=HockeyBasedNYC;16867375]Gomez had a TERRIBLE game last night, really quiet and he must have had 5 or so unforced giveaways.

I started in the 2nd period and counted 8 givaways 5 of which were in the neutral zone, take into acount the first period and im guessing its probobly somewhere around 10 at least. brutal for our "puck moving center".

Staal and Rozy have been very good together. They have both taken their game to a different level since being paired. Staal playing more physical and Rozy not messing up nearly as much. (Rozy probably getting healthy too)

there's a reason why rosi and mara have both played thier best hockey with Staal...He's hands down our best defenseman, he could probobly make kalinen look like a halfway decent player or at least get the +/- down to about -10 or so

Dude, that video was so good. Makes me wish we had Brown in the worst way.

As I said earlier in this thread... I watch the Kings like every night, their team is pretty damn entertaining.

dustin is from ithaca ny and played here in syracuse for the stars.

http://www.syracusestars.net/alumni.html

he was in 8th grade i believe and playing junior b's and was the best player on the ice as an 8th grader.

hes the real deal. and to think we took jessiman. instead.

our scouting has been poor at best until very recently. hes the exact kind of player this organization should draft, especially when hes a kid who grew up 4 hours from msg.

We better step it up against San Jose, we got the 2 points but we only played for half of periods.
