Got an Apology letter from the president of Rds About G.Therrien xenophobic Comments
Haha the president of rds sent me a formal apology letter saying that they apologize about the Kostitsyn brothers comments on their video.
It said that Therrien is an analyst and they think that he's doing a good job, but I have to understand that sometimes he comes under stress and may say certain things. They said he meant to attack the work ethic of the players and that they appreciate my concern. They also acknowledge that his comments were a bit "maladroit".
He singled them out as the problems of the habs, told them to go back to Siberia(even though they're from belarus), said they are stealing the spot of hard working Quebecers, most notably Guillaume Latendresse, and then to top it off, falsly claimed they are threatening the organization to back to Russia if they don't play, even though Andrei turned down an offer this summer from the Russian league and moved his family here.
And what's important was the way he said, he was in a heat of passion as though he was expressing his deepest concerns for the habs.
Good for you. I wonder if more people acted on their e-whining about Therrien. If enough folks do it, who knows where it could lead? He could always go back to coaching, he was so good at that... Oh wait!

I know, I even told people to make formal complaints, looks like I was the only one. You guys can't be shy when you're unhappy about something, if all you do is complain to others the problem will never get solved. The reason Rds continues to be the way it is, is because no one says anything, all good things started by people saying No more, Martin Luther King(racism), Nelson Mandella(apartheid), Gandhi(imperialism), so when you feel there's a problem do something about.

Maybe we can all take a cue and start reporting some of these guys to the CRTC and after a while, some certain "journalists" "analysts" and talking heads will calm down with their rhetoric.
I had a bit of a chuckle too at the racism, imperialism, apartheid connection to Therrien as well.
This whole thing and of course other things I read in the newspaper, hear on the radio, TV, books etc ...
makes me SERIOUSLY wonder, why I get a sense here that the best people are NOT in charge, or even talking .
I mean maybe I feel this way because in a sense I am emotionally involved with this team being a fan ...
but I really can't say I've ever thought the people who cover the Habs are '' pros ''

you know the saying "sex sells" well just replace sex with controversy and that's why they are there. I still don't get why Lapresse needs 12 analysts to analyze a game, why does rds need two seperate shows and 30 people to tell us how they played?

Here we go again. You know you are perfectly free to ignore La Presse and RDS, right?
So why in hell does it bother you that La Presse or RDS have too many analysts? Sounds like whining for the sake of whining.
because it disturbs ****, manipulates peoples minds, makes fans hate players for no reason because they buy into the crap placed in those newspapers. It puts unwanted pressure on the team. The manipulation is quite clear, just go look at those rds talkbacks when begin or lats gets benched. Just look at their comments about Kostopoulos and Koivu. Relate those comments with the ones here, two different worlds. Media is a very powerful and dangerous tool and in the context of the canadiens, it's being used to generate hate among certain players and love for others and whether you want to believe it or not, some people's minds are so soft that they believe these dumb, racists and false comments and it creates hate and negative energy towards the team.
