HAHAHA!

he totally missed the joke.

Anyways, I would be very very disapointed if they don't give Kovalev top ice time.
I want to see him with Koivu..I believe he is our #1 Centre even though I am a huge Ribeiro Fan.

...

no no
I totally got the joke...

I was replying to RaTcine because

"I bet that Kovy will be in Koivu's crew and Dowd on Ribs' one"

Because that sounds like his opinion where the first part is valid, but dowd on ribs is just silly.

The lines i'd like to see

Richard Zednik - Saku Koivu - Alexei Kovalev
Yanic Perreault - Mike Ribeiro - Michael Ryder
Jan Bulis - Jim Dowd - Andreas Dackell
Chad Kilger - Steve Begin - Jason Ward

It's ludcirous that you put Dackell and Kilger without putting in Sundstrom or Juneau..
Dowd is also not a 3rd liner..if he plays as much as a 3rd liner, he will cost you lots of games...I think the shooping is not done...Gainey might be looking at Arnott,Holik (Someone picks up money) and Lindros....

This is a current set of lines, with the current injuries...but you are right begin would be a much better 3rd line center.

The main point was to replace dags with yanic. Dags has missed basically every scoring chance he has seen (and hes seen some good ones) Yanic is still the sniper hes always been.

Yannick can shelf it over any goalie's shoulder in the NHL.
He has a great shot and he can also win key faceoffs.

Right now, I would put Perreault as a top 6 forward in Montreal instead of Pierre Dagenais. I think Pierre can do well on the 4th line with decent PP time on the 2nd unit.

Dagenais

I wouldn't take Dags off the second line. He's been more consistent than Yanic and has been playing harder since the benching and is a big body presence in front of the net. Plus chemisty with Ribs is good. Dags is got 22pts in 40 or so games and is about a +10. Perreault won't be here after the deadline in my opinion and the Dowd trade today sealed that!

Agreed entirely. Dagenais has size and he uses it to shield off the opposition when he has control of the puck. He has a good long reach and uses it. He's got more of a defensive conscience, adds a different dimension to the Ribeiro line and has chemistry there.

I'm no Dagenais fan, but he's been competing better of late and there's not a chance he should be scratched in favour of Perreault in my opinion.

If I were Julien, I'd switch Perreault and Dagenais for the 6th forward spot. The one who doesn't play sits. And when comes playoff time, we get rid of the worst.

Zednik - Koivu - Kovalev
Perreault/Dagenais - Ribeiro - Ryder
Bulis - Juneau - Sundstrom
Begin - Dowd - Ward

We got no room for Langdon . As you see, Gainey needs to move again.

Isn't Dowd injured? I believe he's still 10 days away.
