To get J-Boy it'll cost habs minimum

Plekanec Higgins and (O'byrne or Latendresse).

Again...Florida has NO need for Halak. Vokoun and Anderson now..Markstrom for the future.

How many hab players consistently go to net or stand in front of the net? How many hab players are willing to defend teammates?

And to further this, how many of them are top six forwards?

Horton

averaged 62 points the last two years, plays pretty physical, skates well, goes to the net, right handed shot the habs love, plus player on a bad team, size. Hmm everything the habs lack on the top two lines.

Doubtful. Every year this happens: A few big name pending UFA's are moved at the trade deadline and the return is never as big as all the 'experts' on HF predicted.

Plekanec and Higgins alone would be a huge overpayment for a rental.

LMAO

Do you think Gainey is that clueless? Or are you saying you'd offer that?

This guy is Jay Bouwmeester not Bobby Orr...PLUS he is a FREE AGENT in a half year. No GM not on drugs makes that type of a deal.

At the deadline no, if the move were to happen now, that's what it would cost the habs especially considering the habs desperate situation with the state of the team.

Again read what I said. Markstrom is 18, he won't be in the picture for 3-5 years.

I doubt Fla wants to pay Vokoun 5 mil as a backup, it would be great cost cutting and Halak has nice upside.

I believe it costs more at the deadline because there is much more competition and more desperate teams on the brink trying to get in. Right now, kind of like the Thornton trade, teams are only inquiring every now and then, half-serious. Neither team is desperate at this point of the season.

McGuire said on Team 990 a few weeks ago or so that in order to get JayBo, Habs gave to give up good young players (Higgins, Pacioretty, 1st rounder + I think McDonagh)

I'd want him...but as an NHL GM you can't blindly run your team like the world ends in June.

Guys like Higgins Lats O'byrne Halak are young assets that are under control for 3 to 5 more years. Bouwmeester is a UFA on July 1st. Look at what Pittsburgh paid for Hossa and it hurt their organisational depth. Why would the Habs pay twice what the Pens paid for JB?

He has a great goal per game, but he gets paid for all 82 games and he is not helping much from the trainer's room.

Do we even need Bouwmeester? Gorges has been playing outstanding since Komisarek went down and is easily a top four defenceman on our roster (Markov, Komisarek, Hamrlik, Gorges). Rounding out the 5th and 6th with Bouillon and O'Byrne/Brisebois is fine.

Maybe McGuire should stop smoking crack... At the last year deadline the Pingouins traded for Hossa, Christensen + Armstrong + Esposito + 1st, the Sharks traded for Campbell they gave Bernier and a 1st rounder. This year the Coyote traded for Jokinen, they gave Keith Ballard and Nick Boynton, and a second-round pick (49th overall), the Habs traded for Tanguay they gave a 1st and a 4th/5th (?) rounder... i realy doubt that Bob would have to overpay for Jay Bo, actualy players come very cheap those days.

EDIT: If you look at it the only team who got a good player on a fire sale was Florida with ballard.

Yes we do. Gorges has been playing well, but he can't move the puck. The Habs need a passer and a guy for the PP.

The PP called, he asked for Jay Bo. And even thought i love Gorges, he's not a puck moving defensement and apart from Markov no D on the Habs can compare to Jay-Bo.

all this for an unverified info on a non-sports radio station in Montreal.
