If you guys get the win, the NHL head office is going to hear it. What a absolute BS call.

Bah...I thought it was going to be a 're-try' Hejduk's shot at worst. Not awarding the goal. Not sure on what the official ruling is in the NHL rulebook is though during the shootouts.

Regardless, even if St-Louis had scored to tie it up...we still had our secret weapon....JONATHAN LEOPOLD !!!!

I'd be pissed if I were Tampa fan.

Brutal call by the refs, very ugly. It was a beautiful save. I'll take the win, but if I'm a Bolts fan I'm pissed.

Earlier this year we had someone, I forget whom, throw his stick sorta, where we got that call. That maybe was worthy of it, but this? Not a chance. I'll take the two points though all the same.

The stick came out, but it came out AFTER the save as part of momentum I thought.

Well I guess that ought to take care of everything...All_blueandwhite is going to give it to the NHL "head office"!
The goalie throwing his stick on a breakaway or penalty shot results in an automatic goal. (Same goes for the shoot out.)

Don't they account for when the stick leaves the blocker hand? Not sure it came out before the save, though I had a very time streaming screen to see it.

Was Raycroft's statline any indication of how he played, 37/38 is pretty damn good...or were there a lot of petty shots on goal?

Leopold playing less than 17 minutes in any game is atrocious, let alone an OT one, especially with Clark out there for over 9 minutes more.

Maybe they think they are still in the 70's and we are playing Stan Jonathan

I thought he was much better vs Detroit personally. He was good tonight though when he had to be but there were no real crazy point blank chances that he pulled out of his butt.

You guys got screwed over tonight...it happens. Last year, Shane Doan punched a puck into the net in overtime. The refs counted it. Gretzky threw his boys off the ice asap (before there was any question of a replay) and ran off like a thief in the night.

Sucks but it happens.

i'm not sure of the exact rules but to me it really looked like the shaft of smith's stick made the original save after he dropped it and then the puck hit his blocker. like i said, i dont know the official rules on if the goalie can drop his stick to make a save, but if the rule is that the stick has to be in the goalie's hand when it makes the save, then i think they made the right call

That was definatley..interesting.
Kinda like if Arnie did a Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Bruce Lee 5 minute slow motion shoot-out goal.......Yeah we won, but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

That was a crappy way to win a game, but oh well. We'll take it at this time. And karma will get our ass eventually.

In the Detroit game, I thought he was out of position a lot but he did recover, In tonight's game I thought he was in position on every shot, except in ot on St.louis shot.imo
