My hockeyfights link was a bit choppy so it was hard to see in that video.

The refs also let it go for far too long.
One guy, Crombeen, punched him in the scrum before he and Barch fought. Tell me how that is different than any other meeting of the minds in front of the net in every hockey game.

The only way it is different is that most times guys don't drop the gloves after. It looked pretty standard to me. Boll is just like every other meathead, guys like Ott, Avery, and Crombeen included. They’re going to get punched and faced-washed in a battle in front of the net. That is what happens to agitators and fighters.

agreed. If Boll didn't want to get in a scrum he probably should have skated up to the dallas defenceman (at the beginning of the video) and give him a shot...

The Barch-Boll fight in Game 1 is a thing of the past, I'm looking forward to the rematch!

Having seen Boll fight last year and knowing that he had broken his hand in a pick-up game over the summer, Jackets' fans were very surprised by this fight (and Boll's awful showing).

Watch at about 0:08 into the video. Looks to me (and looked like it at the time) like #44 for Dallas nails Jared in the head before he gets free and tangles with Barch. Boll seems out of it before the fight with Barch even starts. Whether that was from the head shot from 44 or from when he hit the wall, something was wrong with Boll.

Edit: I would like to say, I have no problem with hockey fights. I'd just like the guys to square-off and give it a go. It just seemed like Boll was tied up by four guys while one #44 took a free shot at him. Kind of funny, Picard has been called up. I was watching the video trying to figure out who #21 was for the CBJ.

#44 is Crombeen and he was lost on waivers to the Blues.

The only numbers you need to worry about is #21, #63, #18, #96, #9, #91, #26 ........................and #35

The pre-game show just said that Ribeiro would be playing with Lundqvist and Eriksson???

I thought Neal would at least stay with Ribeiro.

According to the official Game Day roster on NHL.com, the starting line tonight is:

Ott-Modano-Parrish

I guess that means the lines are:

Neal-Ribeiro-Brunnstrom
Lundqvist-Richards-Eriksson
Ott-Modano-Parrish
Barch-Petersen-Wilson

I really hope the pregame show messed up when they said Eriksson and Lehtinen were with Ribeiro. Also, the game day roster said Sydor was paired with Robidas, so:

Sydor-Robidas
Grossman-Daley
Janik-Niskanen

Hutchinson is a mildly surprising scratch.

EDIT: Pregame show screwed up. Richards is still with Eriksson.

That Richards and Eriksson connection could be sweet for at least another 2 and a half years.

I'll give Tippett credit for finally doing something logical with the lines.

Ott's playing way outside of himself. He's going to get himself injured again, or someone else on his team.

Brassard just undressed our entire team.

Mainly Grossman.

Didn't someone say a few games ago they hoped Dallas wouldn't get a goal of the year candidate scored against them?

That was pretty close.

Yeah, Turco's off his game. He's not helping with the puck handling either.

Heh. Grossman fell on some bad ice. Turco didn't do much to help bail him out. He looks shaky at best.

2 goals in 1st period, maybe not TOTALLY Marty's fault, but still, that first one shouldn't have gone in.
