Laus: Maybe I was being a bit harsh. They have stepped up their game this road trip/stretch. Its nice to have a guy or two like that on the team, but the majority of our offense consists of character guys and thats why we're having trouble scoring goals. Granted we a bunch of injuries. I really don't see what Stewart has done at all.
go back and look at your posts. from the very start, it was clear your position was: ville is worthless. i mean, really - if that's where you are planting your flag, then our ideas about hockey are so different that it's not worth arguing.

it had nothing to do with stewart. my response about stewart was aimed at rattrick.

in any case, i'm happy to debate, discuss, concede, learn from folks that have something real to add to the discussion. my mistake was sticking my nose in and commenting on posts in this thread (very valid question posed by kaptah) where that clearly wasn't the case.

I like Peltonen - always felt he got a bad rap from the fans.

On the other hand, I'm not sure I want him back next year.

Hockey players have an expiration date and I'd be willing to bet Peltonen is nearing his.

A one year deal for a reasonable cap hit would be ok in my book if better options aren't available. He is smart and responsible in the defensive end and has a little bit of scoring touch. He may have another good year left in him. I wouldn't want to gamble on two though.

I agree, too, but I have to admit I was one of those fans that gave Pelts bad rap from time to time.

I think Tuco has made a good point regarding Ville being more comfortable with taking on a bigger leadership role now that Jokinen is gone.

Well they have different styles.

With Jokinen, the team goes to a silly West Point training program.

With Peltonen, the team goes out, drinks vodka and uses a firetruck as a pinata.

i didn't want to be the first to say anything and ruin atf's joke but we do know that the west point thing was JM's idea (much as i'd like to pin that - or anything - on olli).

1. This is an internet hockey forum. Since when do we let the truth get in the way of a good quip?

2. Stop the presses. 0.G. just defended Jokinen and blamed JM.
