Torp is trying to do what Emelin was doing at the World Juniors, without the offense.

Thing is, our friend Niklas will have to deal with the fact that he's only 5'11' and that he's not playing basketball....can't jump that way all the time.....

Seems that it's not true though....White men CAN jump.....

Great game by both our prospects, I was impressed by Torp mostly because I knew what to expect from Subban, both awesome defencemen that love the rough stuff with Torp being more of a pesky type. I was laughing when he tried to hit Tavares the same way he destroyed some other guy in the first.

can we expect to see Torp in NA next season? He'd really benefit from a season in Hamilton me thinks.

Was impressed by him tonight. Likes to leave his feet during hits though..

The rover experiment NEEDS to stop. Subban has a booming shot AND a great one-timer......What's the use in having him stand still and looking for deflections? And that strategy gave a goal in the end.

End of it. Let's now hope it's not the end of Subban on the PP but use him accordingly.

Am i the only one who just saw Torp and thought about how we should be lucky if Emelin come in N/A. Because it hit even harder than Torp, have offensive skill, and he is BIG and mean...!

Well he was in the development camps before so I don't think he minds coming over. I really like the guy as well. But will need to adapt. Unless he was using an exhibition game to have fun and get some messages through.

Based on this year only, Emelin is neither mean, doesn't hit as often and doesn't show ANY, I mean none whatsoever offensive skills. Again, I don't know if it's just 'cause he's bored and wants to come over. But based on this year's performance, and I've watched approx. 10ish games, I've been less than impressed even to the point to think that Emelin has regressed....

But to know that, Emelin NEEDS to come over to see where he really is in his development.

It's just odd that he's been here the last 2 summer's for dev camp but won't play for Hamilton.

Maybe he's just not interested in coming over yet?

Not with that frame.. but he sent a message each and every shift tonight. Don't think he's a head hunter though, it's just a natural part of his game.

He can't be a head hunter even if he wanted to. Why do you think he jumps.

Ugh now I remember why I hate reading WJC topics on the HF main boards...every topic turns into a "my country is better than yours" *****fest.

Maybe it's the disconnect that comes from being in Quebec (even though I was born Anglophone and live in a very English part of the city) but I just couldn't care less if Canada wins or not. I don't cheer when they score or get mad when they get scored on. I just like watching all the different prospects. I don't understand these people on HF that seem to come out of the woodwork this time every year to thump their chests about how awesome Canada is at everything.

And to stay on-topic, uh, Torp rules.

I've immigrated to this city/COUNTRY 17 years ago and the passion for hockey overtook me. Cheering for our prospects is a damn given but how can you not be swept away by the amazing force that is this country's Pride and Glory that is our trademark. I won't draw any parallels to the NHL because it's common but this is national pride dude, something on a whole other level, and im proud to be cheering for Team Canada!! Bragging about it is only part of the fun, like a privilege you get when your country is dominant, enjoy it bud.

Torp-eedo RULES!!!!

Torp was a badass, he was hitting everything.
He pissed a couple of canadian players but he should be careful, he cant jump on guys or someone might take a run at him.

I'm with you. I don't cheer for any team. I cheer for McDonagh, Subban, Kristo, and Torp (and any other Habs prospects that are there in a given year)

I definitely cheer for Canada to win, I take it pretty seriously. But I don't use it as an excuse to act obnoxious or arrogant.

Grossest quote of the tournament award goes to Pat Quinn, don't see anyone topping this one about Sweden being the favourites to win the championship:

Quote:
''On paper, they should be the favourites,'' said Quinn. ''Paper, you wipe something with that sometimes.''
