It doesn't matter though if you can score 9 goals a game Sullivan was just a great pickup by Poile.
Vokoun has picked up his game lately. He was in a slump, certainly, but lately he has been good. However, our defense is really getting exposed now. Honestly.....thats a major concern for us. York is out...our lone stay at home type....and we are a small team. We need a big body that can clear the crease.

It was a beautiful open ice hit. He, simply put, crushed Morozov with a nice clean hit. He was fabulous tonight.

Berehowsky?

Ference would also still be gone.

Hamhuis hit was an open ice shoulder to the chest, great hit. He had a great night period by far our best player tonight.

Whatever Chiodo screamed after letting in that 9th goal was pretty darn loud. Echo'd across the whole building and onto the tv.

Agreed. Not exactly 'big-buck' guys either...dealt moreso because of performance than $$.....

I'd replace them with Zubov and Boughner personally.

I feel for the guy. The defense in front of him is just not good. He really doesn't have a chance...

Just as those before him, Chiodo is getting shell-shocked....happened to Fleury and Caron too....the 'D' hangs up the tenders to dry night in and night out.....this team is like the black hole of goalie confidence....

Pens fought hard when most every other team would have given up and cut the lead many times. If they had stayed out of the penalty box they would have had a pretty good chance.

The average goal-per-NHL-game is somewhere around 5.

You can't blame us.

I was there, live in person tonight.

Skimming over the Preds fans comments briefly, I agree with what they have said.

Pens actually played decent 5 on 5, but killed themselves with penalties.

That was just a really, really sloppy game. It was 10x worse in person than on TV, trust me. But hey, I got free tickets so I got my value there.

Anyways, Hamhuis did destroy Morozov pretty bad.

The Pens had a couple garbage goals and the Preds buried their PP chances.

Very forgetable game for both teams. Glad to see Nashville get the two points but I hope they pick their play up...

In closing, the Penguins are a horrible team, they have horrible attendance, players, and especially defense, and they are going to be contracted for sure. There, I said it. Now it's put to rest for the whole board.

I must say that the referees did NOT help the Penguins cause tonight. Not that the Penguins deserved to win by any means, but some of the calls, particularly really early and really late in the game were just mind boggling.

The ones at the end were just plain idiotic. The game was over, Nashville had won. Let everybody go home, and just let it end. They lost control of this game because they tried to call a bunch of last minute penalties to prove some dumb point. Just let it end. The refs just made themselves look dumb, and the players displayed at the end who was in control of the game, but hey, what's new?

A guy on Nashville seemed to have gotten hurt at the end of the game. Hope it wasn't too serious.

Yeah, and friggin' Holzinger tried to bottle feed the guy whilst he was down on the ice, thus leading to the 9th goal against.

I think it really hurt when Orpik takes a stick to the eyeball and doesn't get a call, then in the same play Tootoo steps on Orpik's stick blade, jumps 5 feet in the air, and draws a tripping penalty. Orpik proceeds to complain and gets the extra two.

This goes back to the Islanders game, when Snow pretty blatantly tosses his stick at the puck and there's no penalty shot. Not only that, but there's no even-up. I'm not blaming the refs, because the Pens never gave them anything to call. Nobody tumbled to the ice, nobody threw their heads back and grabbed at their mouth, nothing like that. We just can't buy penalties, and to boot, we can't get away with hooks and holds.

Yea the pens are horrible. Yea the pens would be a top 5-10 team if they had money to keep their stars. But what can you do, things happen and we just have to get through these next couple of seasons somehow and hope that they get better.

Before this game, the pens had played fairly well for their last 4 games. The wheels just came off in this one though.

I have to say though, i was really really impressed with Hamhuis. I knew he was good, but the kid can hit, skate, has awesome offensive instincts...he's a real keeper for nashville. What'd he have 5 pts tonight?
