And the best NHL city is...

New York

http://www.winnipegsun.com/sports/ho...19116-sun.html

Also of note:

-Colton Orr is no longer considered one of the slowest skaters

- One person thinks Tom Renney is the smartest coach in the NHL

-Ryan Hollweg is the dirtiest player in the NHL

- Wade Redden is both slow and overrated

Misleading question. Should be "most exciting city in general that happens to have an NHL team."

they should have a vote of best hockey fighter of all time. Fastest skater of all time. Hardest Slap shot of all time. Would be more interesting. As far as best hockey city. The team that sells out on a consistent basis even if they suck should win.

Smartest coach. they would have to sit them all down for an IQ test for a valid answer to that question. That would also reveal the dumbest coach in the league.

Best dressed coach idk. Trotz of Nashville brought an entirely new look to the league with his shoulder pads and might be starting a new trend with that. So ill go with Trotz.

And hardest hitter? what about Kronwall. I wouldv'e went with him.

Maybe we're the best NHL city among our fans? or the best city with an NHL team? But "best" is very arbitrary i think that question has a direct correlation to the best NHL fans.

That's how you want to start your HF career? Making enemies? Good luck.

...and also where they also get worshiped if they win (see Messier, Graves, Leetch, Richter, Matteau, and others).

Montreal is the best damned NHL city. The town eats, sleeps, and drinks Canadiens hockey through and through.

They are followed closely by the other Canadian cities, the Minnesota Wild. Penguins, Flyers, and Rangers are right after that pack.

Not a big difference overall, and in no particular order. But if you go to a game in Canada, there is an amazing difference in team-support when compared to the NY Metro area market.

It was a poll of players, scouts, coaches, etc. I think more of these people would rather have the big city atmosphere without the intense media scrutiny of Montreal. NY also has a rapid fanbase, maybe not as crazy as MTL, but it's still up there.

That's why New York ranks above Montreal, which is why most players would love to come to NY. In Montreal players are treated like celebrities, in NY they're like anyone else (players can actually go out in the town and not be recognized by most people).

These are players, coaches and other people who work for teams mostly voting, of course they love coming to NY #1. Its a great City and they don't get bothered every 5 seconds by fans and media like they do in Canada.

And it shouldn't come as a surprise but no one takes these things serious, players vote with joke answers mostly, just look at the results. Most overrated is Avery followed by guys with high contracts.

NY is the best hockey city cause it has 3 teams!

Well...sorta. If you count the fishsticks as a team.

Montreal would be at the top of the list of most obsessed cities.

They are rightfully not at the top of the best city.

By best NHL city, they mean which is the best NHL city to visit as an opposing player.

San Jose is San Francisco.

Nashville? Many of the Canadian farm boys like country&western music.
