Zad I'm looking at you!
I require no props...just your love, which I shall return two-fold.

The good news - we beat Columbus
The bad news - it was Columbus

The good news - Quick shutout Columbus
The bad news - so did LaBarbera earlier in the season

The good news - Lewis & Simminds look great
More good news - Kopitar is a hockey god
and more - This will do wonders for Quick's confidence

Doughty kept it simple. He looked great.

Congrats to Harrold for putting one in with the family in the crowd.

Enjoy the PHOTOS OF THE GAME here (link): http://kings.nhl.com/team/app/?servi...galleryId=9156

Go Kings.

I was hard on Kopitar earlier, but he's really putting it together right now. You can really see Simmonds coming into his own paired with Zeus and Frolov. That is a beastly line. Great win.

Harrold - very effective tonight as a forward.

Kopitar had a lot of jump tonight. All hustle, even on the backcheck. Beautiful play with Harrold for that third goal.

I like Harrold much more as a forward than as a d-man.

Lots of love Zad and a happy holiday! Excellent win, we seem to have the Blue Jacket's number and we play them again coming up soon. Though I am sure this next time they will be seeking revenge. Good for Quick and it is nice to end the losing now right before the holidays. Ersberg is returning in one of the three games they play upon coming back from the Christmas break so we have a nice gift on the way Go Kings!

Kopitar looked fantastic. Lewis does too. I like his game, and to be honest, I don't think he'll be heading back down. Quick looked really good. I knew that he shouldn't have been judged too quickly after the game in Detroit. He shouldn't be judged too quickly after this either, but now we know he's deserving of a longer look.

Great win.

Anyone else think that O'Donnell is trying too many Doughty moves?

You have my respect and my love Zad.

I always believed you, but my "did I put my lucky socks on today?" mentality is a hard one to kick.

Great to see the Kings clamp down in the 3rd, especially after the Jackets brought some game. This one had ebb and flow, like all good hockey games will. It's great and important that we can beat the teams who have similar amounts of points... not if only for Phoenix and Colorado... but seriously, just like I said after the SJ and NYR games, we play that brand of hockey and beat any team who isn't one of the best in the league 9 times out of ten.

This is wonderful, because now I can be all fun and games and Christmas cheer the next two days, instead of a miserable curmudgeon grumbling that the Kings have lost 5 in a row. On to 5 in a row, the good way!

I agree, but I've always grown to like Harrold as a d-man much more than Preissing as a d-man. If Harrold is gonna play forward, which tonight indicated he should, JJ can't come back soon enough. Preissing wasn't bad, but he was definately shaky.

Could be the rust.

Could be that he knows he's being auditioned (fingers crossed)

Why don't we just send Gauthier down and Bring JJ up?
Harrold, I guess can say, is doing pretty good. (Hope I don't jinx it)
But Gauthier freaks me out each time he has the puck.

Because Gauthier is vital to our PK. He's excellent at blocking shots, playing the body and taking away chances. He just has the habit of screwing up hard once he has to do something with the puck itself. He played fully a quater of his ice time during a Columbus man advantage, a higher amount than any other defenseman. This ability makes him more important than Harrold or Preissing.

I'll assume you are referring to after Johnson returns from his injury.

But if Lewis staysthen who goes? Simmonds has really grown on me lately and I like him with Fro and Handzus Moller would seem to be the odd one out and I'm not sure I can see DL sending him back to juniors at this point. Zeiler to waivers would make me happy but I'm not sure I'd want him in Manchester and can't see anyone picking him up. Lewis could probably replace Richardson but does Brad have any sort of value to anyone right now? Manchester might be the best place for him to finish out this year, and then next year he can compete for a spot.

I wasn't able to catch much of the game. I did catch the Kings 2-man up PP. That needs work. Good to see them get the win on the road and a shutout at that!!!

Post game comment from Hitchcock:

Quote:
"They kicked us hard early. They won all the board battles," Columbus coach Ken Hitchcock said. "It took us 25 minutes to get into the game. (The Kings) played hard, they're big and strong. They have a lot of veteran, strong players and guys who know how to compete."

I believe he is still recovering right now. But it is probably in his best interest to rehab a bit in Manchester before he returns to LA. He has missed a lot of games and probably needs to be eased back into it.

I think you missed the line he is playing.
With Ivanans and Zeiler as Linemates there is no chance to get a Point.
In 2 Games as 1st line Player he had 3 Points.

But u are right.... he has to laern a lot
