We can really do some damage if we ever get our power play going.

Don't judge me for liking a division rival. I'd never cheer for them over the Panthers and that should be enough.

We might need to kill a penalty or two in the last 7 minutes here.

Nice! I love when we ice the game with an empty-netter. Frolik with his first (of hopefully many) 2-goal game. Great job by T-Vo and the all-around defense.

Too bad Washington made a fabulous 4-0 comeback against the Rangers. Atlanta (over Islanders) and Tampa (over Pittsburgh) also won tonight.

Wow, this team is really one fire

SO again!!

I couldn't watch the game, hockeystreams had some issues with this match

How did Horton look tonight?

Nice to see Frolik scores 2 goals, even if the second was in an empty net

Horton looked so-so, IMO. He made a couple of nice moves, got (almost) hit hard and that got him mad. I thought that would get him going, but it didn't so much. I think Deboer had him on the power play in order to get him going with a goal.

Peltonen again very good.

I thought Horton played fine today, he was hitting a lot and really played a solid all-around game. I thought we were amazing tonight! They are playing with such confidence right now, and its really easy to see. Hopefully, they continue this way of play, and get Bouw signed long term!

Carolina loses 3-2 too. Even though the Caps came back to win, its an overall great night for us. 47 shots on goal, only 27 against, a SO, and two goals by Frolik, works for me! One point behind Carolina with two games in hand, and one point behind Buffalo with a game in hand. We are even only four points behind Pittsburgh with a game in hand. A lot of things are going right for us going into the holiday break. When was the last time that has happened for us!?!?!

BTW...we want Tampa to win some games because we dont want them to end up with Tavares or Hedman. Let them get the 4th or 5th pick, I dont care.

Plus we have four more games before the New Year which are winnable. The only big one is going to be against the Habs. If we can get seven out of the eight remaining points, it would really get us going in the new year!

Great game all around by everyone, another full effort from the whole team, though, I would liked to have seen more from Horton.

Frolik's incredible. He's fast, has great stickwork, is strong on the puck, and is fearless. Love having this kid in our sweater.

Love the way this whole team is playing, it's been so much fun to watch these guys!!!

*Btw, what's with Frolik's 8 or 9 shots to Horton's few?

Frolik has better hockey sense and tries harder than Horton.

While Horton likes to stand around waiting for the puck, Frolik is always moving to find open ice.

While Frolik can maintain puck possession, Horton is careless with his stick handling and passes.

Horton frustrates me.

LOL. Horton can't get any breaks even with back-to-back shutout wins and 5 team points out of 6.

I hope Tampa doesn't get too much of a boost from tonight's win over Pittsburgh. Hopefully Pittsburgh was just gassed from last night's win over Buffalo. Let Tampa start winning after our home-at-home with them.

Exactly. If Horton put the effort in that the Frolik does, we could see Ovechkin-like returns. Just based on size and what he's done without that effort. Frustrates m, too.

Why would that allow Nate to get a break? The team's out there killing themselves, he doesn't put the same effort in. Guy's an alligator man.

He was out there grinding away like the rest of them. Just because he doesn't have noticeable wheels like Booth or Frolik doesn't mean he wasn't putting in effort.

Whatever makes you sleep at night Crapitals have won nothing yet other than a division title, and media/NHL fans slop all over them

They'll win NO TITLES OR CONFERENCE CROWNS with that weaksauce goaltending. "Exicting" goalending

Three pages...if I did not catch the game on CI. , I would have guessed we won the game by the lack of posts in the GDT

What were your guys expectations of this team coming into the season at the Christmas break? I would say they are 2-4 wins ahead of my expectations. That trip up here to Canada really helped pass my expectations nearly at the half way point of the season.

I also thought Carolina would have been a little closer to Washington for the division with us battling TB. for third in the division. I said at the beginning of the year ,we'd be around the 8th-10th spot in the East. I did not buy us being in the Tavares sweepstakes at all to start the season...but my mind did sway that way after the first 15-20 games of the season

Trade TiVo now guys? I knew he would come back around . I guess my pat on the shoulder and words of encouragement to him during the pre-game warmups in Calgary has done wonders to his confidence & on-ice game That's the coach in me coming out I guess...

Horton's problem isn't his wheels, it's his motor.
