Ottawa-Philadelphia (Trade Deadline)

To Philadelphia: Filip Kuba

To Ottawa: Claude Giroux

Philadelphia gets a 24 minute a night defenseman who's on pace for 58 points to solidify their top 4 for a playoff run.

Ottawa gets a RW offensive prospect, something they sorely lack.

No chance. The Philly defense is average, not awful. That's a move a taem with an awful defense makes when they got lucky getting into the playoffs.

There is no capspace for the Flyers. (I think)

No cap space and no chance we're trading Giroux for Kuba

Giroux will not be trade for anything less then a solid top three dman. we have others to fill the bottom pairings or other assets to trade.

If a 58 point (pace through almost half a season) defenseman is not a top-3 dman, what is your idea of a #1 dman? Bobby Orr on speed? Value of THIS trade aside, it seems you have pretty ridiculous expectations for the return Giroux would fetch.

Good, because Filip Kuba is a top 2 defenseman.

Kuba would be your #3 behind Timonen and Coburn, and he's far better than anyone in your 4th spot (Carle, Jones, Vaananen...)

Wow...really? You just gave us a healthy beating, but it wasn't your D that looked good necessarily.

It's goaltending that's gonna end the Flyers this year. Horrendous.

Carle has been pretty amazing actually since we acquired him. I have him as our #2 as of right now this year. Coburn the 3.

love philly's forwards, but your goalies are going to be the source of some headaches.

Every team he's ever played on in his career?

He led the Wild in ice time every year he was there (5 seasons), he was #3 on the Lightning during his two season (behind Boyle and Ranger), and he's leading Ottawa...

two problems:

1. Flyers cap says hi

2. Flyers already have too many D-Men.

Wouldn't trade for an injured player anyway (especially the groin).

Flyers dont need any more defense. And certainly not Giroux for that scrub.

Scrub = Phillips.

You think Giroux is worth Phillips ?

Most Ottawa fans want him gone. He's awful.
