Phoenix and Vancouver trying to land Havlat

Busy morning around here..so just a quick update before I go back to the phones.

A source tells me that the Coyotes and Canucks are putting together deals to pry Havlat away from Chicago....

Given the league is actively looking for someone to invest or buy the Coyotes and that the league is closely watching the money transactions of the coyotes right now, I'm thinking adding a big salary isn't high on the list of things for that franchise.

The canucks I can see.

When's the last time Eklund was right? Honestly, this is a serious question.

1963. When he correctly answered his teacher's question of "what is 1+1?"

What would it cost to get Hanzal in Chicago?

Here is an idea for a Chi-Pho trade

To Hawks
C Steven Reinprecht
2nd round pick
4th round pick (2010)

To Coyotes
RW Martin Havlat

Hawks then go with these lines

Sharp-Toews-Kane
Versteeg-Bolland-Byfuglien
Ladd-Reinprecht-Brouwer

Hawks still have 3 good lines and add some more picks to restock our farm which is somewhat depleted from the last few years success of our young players.

Phoenix makes zero sense. Why would they trade ANY of their young players, AND take on a $6 million dollar contract when the team's financial situation is in the *******?

I believe Eklund is the reason the ignore thread option was instituted. It's just too bad there is no way to auto ignore any thread that has Eklund in the title.

Any tiny thread of credibility he had went out the window with the Sundin signing.

How so? I'm always up for a good laugh at Ek's expense.

Not sure why the Hawks would make a 3rd line C (Reinprecht) their target? I'd like OJ, but with the Coyotes in $$ trouble, why would they take Havlat..........

if they trade havlat, it will be a lateral move for a #1 or 2 center

toews doesnt cut it as a number 1, but if they cant get a real #1 then a good #2 would be second on the itinerary

But the Blackhawks are most likely going to make the playoffs, and would probably want to keep Havlat, instead of trading him wouldn't they?

Also, I think the Canucks would be looking for a puck moving d-man, not another forward. Especially after signing Sundin.

exactly, havlat is no rental; its either a lateral trade or massive overpayment for a guy underperforming

Compared to MTL, TOR, and NYR, Vancouver isn't as high-traffic.
