Give us a break with Babchuk please. It's not funny anymore
It isn't.
He is coming along nicely, and him warranting consideration for the Olympics next season isn't out of the question.
Especially so when considering that the tournament will be played on NHL sized ice.
He's Ukrainian ahahaahahah he's not even Russian !!!!
Sigh.
You'd think someone who pretends to know as much as you would be aware of the citizenships of hockey players.
Care to take a guess as to who this young lad is?
Race doesn't matter, u take the best players to help u win. Nabby was born in Kazakhstan, yet he still plays for us. Frankly I would take a team full of Russian black guys if it helped us win, rather than succumbing to stupid politics and favourites that have plagued Russian teams in the past decade.

so what? Zherdev is from Ukraine as well but like Babchuk they moved to Russia at age 13 . and they took Russian passports.
i think Babchuk can make a OG team if he continue a develop as he did this year.
What now you want 2 Ukrainians on Team Russia ? Well if Vagner Love's son is born and Moscow and is a candidate for the hockey olympic team in 20 years that's a Russian player and it's better than taking Ukrainians who learned to play in Ukraine at the start...

which player. If its the one on the ice, then what is Adam Deadmarsh in Russian jersey.

Lets not get into trying to pinpoint the divide between Russians and Ukrainians. And we can conviniently forget that Babchuk's hometown of Kiev is the cradle of Russian civilization. Hell, even the fact that both Babchuk and Zherdev were developed into hockey players in Russia is irrelevant. It's actually all very simple! Babchuk holds a Russian passport, and that, irrespective of birthplace, entitles him to the same right and obligations as any other citizen of the Russian Federation. Representing his country, if so chosen, is one of them.
