I was thinking about this the other day. I honestly hope the Russian Team in 2010 can build on what it had in 2006 and go from there. The talent on this team could be legendary. I hope they can come together as a team and put on a great show.

Will Varlamov be NHL-quality by then?

Radulov Zherdev Morozov Makarov... Any chance we could naturalize the Kostistyn's?

Eh, don't need them. We are set at forwards.

The question is, who will be our top goallie by then? Varlamov? Bryzgalov? Nabby?

You don't think Kuchin would make the cut?

Canada and Russia are definately going to be the favorites bar-non

sure America will look fairly good, but really how does a top line of Drury-Parise-Stastny(not a winger I know)

compared to a top line of Kovalchuk-Malkin-Ovechkin and Heatley-Crosby-Iginla

Yup I don't see any other nation rivaling Canada and Russia in the pure skill department

NOT EVEN FINLAND!!!!!!!!..................

Bryzgalov or Nabby, hard to pick between the two, both are exceptional. Although as of RIGHT NOW, probably Nabby, but who knows how brizzy will be in 2010. This deffinetly will be exciting, cant wait

Any info on what the team will look like? What are the chances Semin makes the cut in '10?

I'm not sure if he will make the cut for WJC let alone OG.

Usa will suck as much as in Turin when they had 1W in 6 matches.
They will have a decent line that's it. The best guy now is about #25 in nhl scoring...Radulov will be your surprise guys get ready for a big explosion from him soon. Nabby or Ilya in goal no weak link this time. Will Kovalev play? Morozov will be 33 so if he continues like that he will be there. Always good to have some "hidden cards" to catch the Canadians, remember the great joob Sushinsky and Kharitonov did while we eliminated them at Turin. The 2010 will consist of 2/3 nhl goalies(maybe 3) 4-5/8 nhl D and 3/4 lines nhl . Look for Morozov Makarov Cherepanov???Makarov Atyushov especially .Anyhow this discussion is pointless now ...bring it back in over a year...

How about Filatov? He could be a star by 2010. Maybe Zherdev too. Russia is gonna be Sick. Plus all the young talents coming up in the future they could be Sick in 2014 and 2018 as well.

Yes Filatov true maybe. Yeah they will be probably the biggest offensive attack in 20 years+ but they will need Markov Gonchar Volchenkov to have massive Olympics because right now the depth at defense is thin. For the first time ever Russia could have 4 players in the top 10 in nhl scoring plus 2/3 best D !!!!!!!!!!!

I watch every Washington game - Semin for sure, maybe next years he will be a 90 pt. player. Slickest puckhandler in the leaue : silky smooth + playmaking abilities + wicked shot.
Radulov too, he is electrifying and dynamic at times, when he learns better consistency a 40-50 goal man for sure. Already made good progress over last year.
I'm sure Filatov will be on that roster and Bryzgalov will be the starter.

First thing Russia must do is to get their players play as a team. We have seen so many times that many Ovetchskins wont help the team to win.

Stop saying stupid things loser. Ovechkin = Canada OUT. What doesn't help are the Sokolov and the Eremenkos of the world....With solid goalie in 2010 it will be just like 198-1.
