He's over the 60-point plateau...he'll be back. He's got a $500K bonus to look at and he's not that far away from it. Oh you of little faith...

I'm just going to be a little bit sadder than usual for a couple weeks...but it could be worse...at least it isn't broken. Thank God for that.

The rest will help.

He could come up here and recuperate...

the comment was made in jest... This board has seen more than its fair share of "Datsyuk is overrated and will never put up more than 50-60 points" threads.

Honestly I think losing Draper hurts them just as much if not more.

Yeah, Draper's injury hurts a lot. Datsyuk is an offensive player, and especially with Lang, Detroit shouldn't have a lot of trouble picking up the slack. But Detroit doesn't have a player that can replace Draper, nobody can just decide to step up and be good at faceoffs and defense.

These injuries not a huge deal for the Wings right now because they have a pretty comfortable division lead and all these guys will be back in time for the playoffs. It might cost them the President's trophy, but they should still finish in the top 3 in the conference which means avoiding a first round matchup with one of Dallas/San Jose/Vancouver/Colorado.

Thanks, honey, but send the prayers where they really belong...not to me. Send them to someone who really deserves them.

I'm hoping that his youth and health will bring him back in the 10-day frame. At least he'll be back for the game I'm going to on April 3rd. I've had a couple sprained ankles...he just better thank his lucky stars it isn't broken. That would be total hell.

Kira, I worry about you. What will happen if Pavel (knock on wood) goes down for a season with a torn ACL or something? Are you going to be ok?

wow, first Dandenault and now Datsyuk. No wonder Manny Legace doesnt wanna face the Flames in the playoffs, he'll have nobody healthy in front of him.

I think this may actually be a good thing for the Red Wings. Datsyuk seems to get tired at times, and a two week break should really freshen him up for the end of the season and playoffs.

The 3 D's are down. Canucks smell blood, they need to jump on Detroit's misfortune and break the Wings... put da boots to 'em... kick 'em while they're down I say!

*tells self to relax... it's just a game*

I think you're right. It's probably a blessing, in the sense that Datsyuk is small and has shown signs of being physically worn recently. He's certainly not the same player right now as he was in the first half. The rest could really help him, and with Lang now in the fold the Wings will be fine until he heals.

Cheerios who? Yeah, I'm getting a little bit pumped up for this game; it's an early starter and I actually get to watch this one. Unfortunately I didn't get to see most of the 'Nucks/Avs matchup the other night and the last 'Nucks/Wings game was a ppv so I only listened on the radio.

Forget the decaf... I'm heading out to pick up some pizza, munchies and some Kokanee.

I'll try to be a little quieter this game though... very conservative neigborhood you know. Don't want them to be referring to me as the 'crazy lady' down the road.

god forbid he stays out too too long, but mac is solid in the faceoff circle, and stevie can always move back to center for the time being

Don't even think like that...I'd probably be upset but I'll survive.

Actually, this will be a blessing in disguise. First of all, when Pavel came here in '01, he'd been playing steadily since June...came just almost to playoff time and Scotty gave him a week off. Came back firing on all cylinders for the playoffs.

When he sprained his knee last year and missed 18 games, he came back with a vengeance and just tore up the place.

I think being double- and triple-teamed every night is getting to him...I mean, come on - how would any of us perform if we had 2 and 3 195-200 pound plus guys on us for a whole game? If he's flat out exhausted it's no wonder.

Take the R&R Pasha...we'll hold down the fort til you get back...just don't be gone too long. I miss your smile.
