I wonder if this will trigger anything. Maybe a trade.
The Columbus blogger over at hockeybuzz says there are rumors of Briere and Jones for Jay-Bo.
You can file that under "too good to be true."
On a more serious note...it's two losses. No reason to make trades because of two losses. We need to make a trade because when healthy our team doesn't fit under the salary cap...not because of these two games.

I can not bring myself to start an opposing goalie when they play the Flyers on my fantasy team. I do not want there to be any positives about the Flyers losing

Very good point!
Normally I don't start an opposing goalie but with the injuries, I figured he wouldn't get shelled. I was very hopeful for a win though.
Giroux looked decent. Probably one of the few that did look good last night. And something will happen tradewise because Briere is coming to join the team according to Yahoo, in Vancouver. So someone is getting shipped out.
I thought Giroux looked really good out there, he had one golden chance but he didn't shoot the puck and looked for the pass. I think he needs to get off the shoulders that he needs to impress when he's out there for every shift and just play his game.

Agreed. I really like what I saw from Giroux especially in terms of intensity and effort. He was flying around making some plays. I'm impressed with his passing as well but I wish he would have put that puck on net on the play you brought up.
Although he may have just looked good by comparison to the rest of our team

The Jay-Bo reference could be rehashed from another columnist, I seem to recall a prior similar rumor -- probably one of many of varying significance floating out there.
I don't even want to think about Timonen on LTIR but that could be a consideration along with a lesser deal to fit Briere, but that is a huge maybe.
Holmgren said there's a chance center Danny Briere (groin injury) will play late in the trip - after the GM clears lots of cap space, probably with a deal. . . . Defenseman Ryan Parent will play for the Phantoms on Tuesday at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as he continues his comeback from shoulder surgery. . .
Everytime i start an opposing goaltender the Flyers tend to light him up. Especially when i go to the game. Like last week with Auld against Ottawa.
I got totally screwed with goalies this year. I took Leclaire thinking he'd be good again and took Legace thinking the Blues would be a bit better and he wouldn't be getting hurt. My goalies right now are 3 backups (MacDonald, Hiller, Halak) and Legace. In my other league (much deeper, to the point where Alberts is on it and Vaananen was on it), my goalies there are Niittymaki, Huet (who I took in like the 5th round), Harding and Vokoun. Huet is splitting time, Vokoun can't consistently start in front of Craig Anderson and the other 2 are backups, luckily Niittymaki was hot the last week or so.
Other than getting to see the Flyers live for the first time, the game was an utter disappointment. Not once in the whole game did we have the momentum to change things. 20 shots on goal is just silly.
Looking at the standings I wish we had those four points from the last two nights, but everyone loses some games, and what we need to do here is turn it around and not go on an extended losing streak. Looking forward to Tuesday's game!!!
This is the NHL. It's not as simple. The Flyers have 3 wins this season by 3 or more goals, and one of those wins Niittymaki had to make 47 saves. It's not like the Flyers will themselves to 5-1 wins. Flyers traveled on game day two straight days. Columbus now has 11 of their 15 wins at home. We weren't talking about a gimmie here, I thought it was realistic that the Flyers split these two games.
