Guys, this is probably legitimate family reasons. I highly doubt that they'd use this excuse if they were working on a deal - instead he'd have a mysterious "lower body injury" or would simply be a DNP - coach's decision (to borrow a basketball term).
And poor Potter has been paired with good ol' Kalinin, to make sure he picks up a minus tonight.
trial by fire. if Potter can end the night + or even even, then won't that be an "indictment" of his defensive accumen? Won't that be quite the statement of his value? Someone who can make Kalinin an even +/- player would be most welcome.
Those are the last people who want him to quit. There were 5 million reasons for him to keep playing under the tree this year, and there will be every year for awhile as long as he keeps playing. I'd go out there in one of those sled hockey sleds and get booed every night of the year for that kind of money.
Eh no one liked to be booed. I don't care who you are & how tough you think you can be, after a while it hurts.
Anyone who thinks he's being traded is delusional. Not to mention, I don't know why you want him traded. He's been our best defenseman the past week or so. It's amazing how easily people forget 3 amazing years he has had with the team because of 15 or so games of crappy play. Get off the guy's case.
And why does "family reasons" have to be a negative thing? Maybe his sister is giving birth. Could be a number of things.
