"Massive Spezza Deal Being Worked On"(Flames and others)

According to Eklund there is a major deal in the works that would send Robyn Regher and Lomnbardi + to Sens for Spezza. As A Flames Fan it hope this does not happen(it is Eklund) but still I don't want Robyn Regher to go any where. We can do without Spezza.

looks like Eklund is a little bit short of cash after all the Christmas shopping

Regehr has a NTC and isn't going to leave Calgary for Ottawa to break it. Sutter won't even ask him to with his contract.

I think there might be some truth to this. My sources tell me that members of Ottawa's head office have been spotted around Calgary and that they will be at Calgary's game tonight. Checking out Regehr and Lombardi, perhaps?

Another source: "Robyn Regehr and Lombardi are names that I keep hearing going the other way...From LA I am hearing a big defensive prospect as well as a top line forward. In Chicago, Keith's name is out there, but only for the ABSOLUTE perfect deal. In Vancouver Bieska."
Keith aint goin anywhere.

If you read everything he has to say he is amazingly obscure. Plus why in the world would the sens want Regher? Sens are so loaded up on defensive defensemen right now they cant possibly add another despite how good.

I dont think Eklund knows what a NTC means. He just throws out a million rumours from his "sources"...like the saying goes, you can put a million monkeys in a room with type writers. eventually you will get shakespeare

Sens have enough dmen, and Lombardi would be massive downgrade and wouldn't help their offense much at all.

I like Reggie, and don't want to see him gone, I'm sure most Sens fans don't want to throw Spez overboard for one bad year either.

I love how whenever a player is named in a possible Spezza deal, they say that he is going nowhere

Sorry guys, you won't get our 25 year old, 90+ point centerman for bull****

Bieksa for Spezza?

We'd have to add so much to that and it would not make sense.

Henrik
Sundin
Spezza
Wellwood
Kesler
Johnson

Don't need 6 NHL centers...

Oh god, we don't want Spezza, Eklund, and certainly not at the cost of Regehr.

Has he figured out where Sundin went yet?

Haha, maybve we are getting doughty for Bieksa! woohoo!

wonder who the goalie is - maybe its gerber who gets traded to one team - then traded to another team, and then back to ottawa!

I can't help but think that the Oilers are so hellbent on a player to compliment Hemsky with that would beat that package even if this report was true.

last year at this time where did eklund have Ovechkin playing this season?

Alexander Ovechkin is being rumored to be traded to the Nashville Predators for a slew of players. Included in the Alexander Ovechkin trade rumor has Ryan Suter, Marek Zidlicky and more to Washington for Ovechkin. Eklund is the one reporting the NHL trade rumor involving Ovechkin to the Predators.

Eklund Rumor: Ovechkin and Kolzig to Preds (e3)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nashville would send a 2 #1's, Dumont, Zidlicky and Suter (possibly Weber depending on who you talk to ) to Washington for Ovechkin and Kolzig?

I can tell you this much. There are some legs to this rumour. It could turn out to be enormous. The players do vary depending on the source, but the bottom line is Ovechkin and Kolzig to the Preds...

From a Cgry point of view, i would not do it. I'd offer up Lombardi + Langkow and a D not named Regehr or Phaneuf.

Spezza, Iginla and big Bert would probably be super exciting to watch.

Vancouver says no simply because we dont need another center. Sundin Sedin are two no.1 centers...Kesler is a selke esk no3 center...
Bieksa has been probably our best Dman this year too!!

Also....if Spezza were to be traded....then i would expect a package like the ones listed in this thread.....the ppl who say "wow you think spezza could get more in return" are crazy....the package big name players fetch is often lower than what most ppl expect.

I completely agree, however, I can't imagine Darryl Sutter trading his best defenseman for a forward that doesn't fit the Sutter "mold". Plus Regehr has the best contract out of the big 4 in Calgary. I can't see how Spezza would fit financially in Calgary.
