Dissapointing to say the least. Was rooting for the kid, but obviously it just isn't going to work out. Have to think he won't get another chance with the organization.

I had noticed he hadn't played the last few games in Vegas. Supposedly he was injured, but with this suspension he may have left the team again. He just may not want to play hockey for a career.

Sounds like the end of the Ryder experiment. Let's hope he gets his life in order.

Disclaimer: Nothing in this post is anything but complete nonsense.

Since nobody knows what was up with Ryder during his time-out, how about this.

Suppose Ryder had a gambling problem, he fights through it and comes back to hockey only to be assigned to Las Vegas. Trouble! Ryder falls off the wagon and loses Matthew Lombardi, Dustin Boyd and a 1st round pick at a poker tourney, finishing dead last and walking away with nothing more than the rights to Alexander Radulov.

It would explain the suspension as moving Lombardi off the Flames roster is indeed grounds for losing your job.

Hmmm too bad but I guess you win some and loose some. Interesting how Ryder and Pardy are from the same town. Glad PArdy is making so much of his call up. Sop much that IMO he will be staying or if sent down to the AHL be back soon... Good on him.

He'll regret this in a few years. But that's why we were all young once, to do stupid things and pay for them later. lol

Sucks to lose him. I had hopes, not high hopes, but hopes that he would utilized his potential and become a solid NHL player. Too bad this kid can't get his head outa his anus.

He is displaying the same attitude problems as his brother, but to a much greater magnitude.

dont know what your talking about Michael Ryders only problem in the Nhl was with Carbonneau just because he wasnt a small speedy european player like the rest of the scabs and didnt fit into Carbonneaus so called system. Coach Julien has coached Michael Ryder in junior in semi-pro and now in the NHL and hasnt had a bad thing to say about him!!! His brother Daniel is just homesick and doesnt have the passion to play the game- take this from a fellow newf who knows the situation!!!

Interesting news to say the least. Ryder has signed a PTO with the Providence Bruins. He is still suspended by the flames (I assume) and still has a contract with the flames so I have no idea how this works. Guessing he is still technically our property just playing for a different team. Wonder if he gets traded by the deadline or in the offseason?

Hmmm the Bruins want both brothers then maybe, a definite twist and way to deal with Ryder's antics and come out ahead maybe.

From the looks of it guys, Ryder was released by the Flames and is on a 25 game tryout with the PB's. If they decide to, they can sign him. A great low risk/possible high return move by Chiarelli. If Dan can regain his form...lookout. Can be interesting.

That would be rather ingenious indeed...
