This probably means another undeserved promotion for Matthias. Sucks to lose Kreps as I'm a fan of him. He skates hard and is a smart player and I think he'd do well if he got extended time with skilled players on a line. Hopefully Andy can get us a win.

Sucks losing our best face off guy. I also think Deboer should bring up glass because like you said Matthias hasn't earned a call up. Glass Will fight if needed as last night nobody did when we needed to change the flow of the game because of Boynton's beatdown the night before. I would probably say bring up Repik if not Glass because he played well while he was here.

Glass would be a good call up. McLean can play 4th line center in the meantime.

It always sucks losing any player for an extended amount of time and it would be nice to have our lineup as healthy as possible for once, but I see it as a good opportunity in a way for one of our prospects to show again of what talent they can bring to the team. Kreps is a good asset at time to the lineup and his faceoff win percentage helps a lot, but I wouldn't become too upset about this.

I always use Booth as an example. If the entire team stayed healthy all the time, and he was never called up, would we have ever seen the amazing intensity that he brings? Maybe not.

Eh, I rather see Matthias called up than Glass.

I just spoke to him and he said 5 - 6 weeks. He also said it hurts alot. I forgot to ask him exactly what it was, but he was in a sling.

*sigh* this hurts.

there is already an extra body in FL - stewie. what we lose in kreps that isn't replaceable at this point is, obviously, faceoffs and PK.

with frolik playing some center, PDB could decide to stick with who he has here, though i don't think there's anything wrong with calling up matthias. i don't see the logic in bringing up glass at this point - he doesn't give you anything that stewie can't, really.

Not sure how I forgot about Stewie, I'm glad he'll be back in the lineup.

Sucks about Kreps...thus is the Panthers.

GR suggests we pick up Doug Weight who is averaging almost a point a game for the Islanders. I concur.

"Word out of New York is the Isles are shopping Doug Weight and looking for a few draft picks in return. Wonder if the Panthers are looking that way... "

Been taked about in the Horton thread, several of us concur. Would be a huge pickup, imo.

We would have to clear salary to make him fit.

Not much really. I don't know how much he makes after incentives. The team should have put Allen on the LTIR a while ago, which would save some cap space. If Cohen really wants to keep the payroll where it is, it could be worked out by sending out McLean and/or Murphy or whoever the team thinks is wasting space right now.

Murphy...definitely Murphy. See if some team will take him off our hands for a 7th round pick in 2011 or something.

Don't deal McLean, but maybe an inconsistent vet with an expiring contract that another team could get some use out of, like Zednik.

Incidentally, I think we really should look at the fact that this team played its best without Horton or Zednik in the lineup.

Yeah, there are a few guys who I wouldn't care if the team got anything back for, and Murphy is one of them.

Oh, yeah - I forgot, you can trade a player for "future considerations"
