You'd rather have Brisebois there?

Seriously, what is wrong with this power play?

I know we're missing that big point shot, but what else is wrong. We shouldn't be this bad.

One thing i did notice though....when was the last time you saw Markov pinch in, take a cross ice pass and get a great scoring chance or goal? Anyone else remember this? He used to do it quite frequently.

As much as they're not creating chances, they're not winning any battles to retrieve the puck in the opponent's zone. Especially Plekanec, man is he struggling, he can't do anything.

I would go back to last year's top PP unit with Akost-Plek-Kovy-Markov and then just put SKost in place of Streit

last time he did it I think it was against either the Rangers or Flyers and he shot right on the goalie and missed the open net.

I still think the forwards are too far out of the play and right now we should just start by putting the puck on net and crash for some rebounds,we look like we are trying to kill the 2 minutes out there

It's mostly about what's happening at the point. It's not so much that Souray/Streit are gone - Markov has a great shot, and Sergei isn't a slouch either - but that they're making bad decisions. Markov, specifically, is hesitant to shoot, shoots when he should pass, passes when he should shoot, and basically gives the defence too much time to make a move on him. This slows down/hinders the puck movement in general and is making things way easier for our opponents.

I really think promoting Weber will allow Markov to return to a position he's more comfortable with, but that can't happen until next year. The kid might have the shot, and be ready offensively, but he's not ready defensively and needs to play regularly in Hamilton to learn. The Habs are going to have to make due with what they have right now and figure it out (or make a trade).

Weber is not being promoted for the 1000th time , and the main problem is the guys are trying to be too fancy, they just have to come back to the basics. Pass to the point shoot the fn puck and pick up rebounds, sounds quite simple no ?

believe it or not there is more to the game then the PP ! Weber is not ready and you will not see him for at least one full AHL year.

On a side note, Brisebois doesn't belong on the 1st PP unit.. but he deserves a spot on the 2nd unit. Why? Because he shoots and no one else seems to want to fire the puck at the net.

What's wrong with the PP? I'll tell you#1It's confidence, bad breaks and then the stretch it goes in. I was looking at Detroit's last night PP and the difference is confidence. Look at where Franzen put that in. Reminded of last year's Pleakanec.
#2nd point shots.

End of thread

We should hire habs girls, like the Panthers and the Bolts. Our boys will have no trouble finding the five hole

Damn, that was a dirty one.

Our 5 on 5 play is vastly improved. That bodes better for the playoffs. Last season, teams could just focus on shutting down the PP to stop us. This year, we're alot tougher.

All we need to do is trade for a consistent goal scorer to help balance out the solid defensive play and goaltending.
