So, anyone else having a hard time watching this game instead of the WJC USA/Canada?

Nope.

I'd rather watch the best players in the world instead of a tournament only 2-4 countries care about with a bunch of players who may turn out to peak these two weeks.

I see the Stars defense has picked up where it left off, letting players cruise through the slot and front of the net unmolested.

A simple "No" would have sufficed.

It was more a comment on this board (and a very very annoying friend from Toronto) than you. I'm sick of hearing about how fabulous this tournament is when it's just not.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

Guh, Turco. You've been solid early as the Stars defense has abandoned the front of the net, but that turnover was completely uncalled for. Stop that.

More proof that Kritter hates young players.

Oh okay, lol. I just meant because it was getting gritty toward the end of the 1st period, so I assumed the 2nd would be a mean game to watch. Decided to watch the Stars though instead, so hopefully it'll be worth it, lol.

No problem. I just can't get behind the idea prevailing idea that a U-20 tournament is the be all and end all of hockey this time of you, especially with so few teams genuinely competitive.

It's like Olympic men's soccer or the U-20 World Cup. It's fun, but not this huge blowout tournament.

Biggie - I hate everyone right now. Especially that diving Devil. That's what 16 basketball games in 3 days will do to someone's psyche.

Mmm, Loui shorthanded.

That kid has turned into something special this year. Awesome play all the way from the clear and some uncharacteristically lazy play from the Devils.

Eriksson with a shorthanded goal. I wonder what the hell the devils were thinking.

This game just became worth it regardless of the outcome. Eriksson with the shortie. Geezus he's carrying this team with his offense this season. I thought it'd be another season or two before he hit this level.

Come on. Hockey at the WJC level is just plain fun to watch, whether or not they're the best players in the world. (...or playing the most efficient systems in the world)

But of course watching that instead of the Stars would be madness.

Oh, it's fun. I just think it's blown incredibly out of proportion. I just can't take a tournament too seriously when it has not one, but two 10+ goal beatdowns and only 2-4 honestly competitive teams.

BTW, your first post is genius.

Mike Mottau had way too much time and space there.

That wasn't good. It went through four bodies in front, and I'm not sure Turco ever saw it or if it might have been deflected.

The Stars must must must get better at clearing people out of the low slot and top of the crease.

PP again for the Devils.
