I'm not sure who wanted Vishnevskiy to play more, you or him.

This move may very well have been a waste of everyone's time. But like you said, the bottom line is that nothing happened to set Vishnevskiy's development back, which I think was a strong possibility if he had been thrown to the wolves. So I can't be too upset.

I feel like the Stars just teased me.

I was continent with waiting until next year. Then they call him up, and I think I’ll finally get to see him. Instead, he goes on a mini-vacation in the Arctic north where all he gets are crappier seats to a hockey game then most of the fans in the arena.

If he was thinking about bolting for the KHL, wouldn’t this more likely have ticked him off then made him want to stay? You could tell how stoked he was, and that he believed he would be playing from that post on his blog. Obviously, someone forgot to give him all the details. The only positive out of this is he gets a huge pay jump and a nicer hotel room for a week.

6 days of his NHL base salary is about $25k. 6 days of his AHL salary is about $2k. Big difference.

Wonder if Benn will get the same type of treatment next season (assuming he is playing in the AHL). If not then I would definitely think it points towards the KHL issue. Unless the Stars are worried about Benn not wanting to play in the NHL?

Honestly... what the hell is the point now? A month ago, when Sydor played like ****, when he got called up the first time. But no, wait until we're completely screwed.

Sweet!

Someone said that he may have come in late from the call up so that's why he didn't play tonight.

Was me. Was just a guess.

It's the only logical reason I could think of.

The story in the paper for the Riverman said he wasn't called up until this afternoon so I would agree with you.

The question now is, who the hell sits? I'm guessing Robidas is done for the year. With the Stars out of the playoffs, there is no need to push him.

That gives Dallas: Daley, Grossman, Fistric, Niskanen, Hutchinson, Sydor, and Vishnevskiy.

I think Sydor could actually sit.

Fistric-Daley
Grossman-Niskanen
Vishnevskiy-Hutchinson

Hutchinson doesn't provide the veteran presence of Sydor so he'll sit if Vishnevskiy plays.

Did Daley re injure himself or what? I can't believe he'd get the axe before Hutch or Sydor? What's up with that?

My guess is that he was still injured in the last game, but wanted to play in the last home game.

Sydor-Vishnevskiy
That'll help cover up his supposed defensive deficiencies
