I often wonder if we gave up early on these guys. JF Fortin reminds me of Jurcina and damn if Yonkman did not have to deal with all those injuries I wonder what his potential would be.

I just hope Finley fills in what Yonkman could have done for us, a big mean capable d guy who is mobile.

Anyone know what is going one with these guys and if you would insert them into our line up over Helmer, Sloan, and Collins?

Well, Yonkman would potentially put Nylander on the LTIR, so that's something to consider.

Gotcha.

I know that they both played well for a bit during all the injuries of our previous team.

I remember that shellacking by Ottawa and then Boston 9 or 10 goals against us really killed their confidence.

LOL I remember that. Nylander got up cursing Nolan after he broke his limb. If Nolan had Schultz's stick work I think he would be a huge leap over Sarge.

Why stop at Fortin and Yonkman? Let's get all those guys from the late 90's/early 00's back on board! And while you're at it, bring back Bruce Cassidy! The man was a motivator!

Here is my dream starting lineup:

James "Big Shot" Black - Terry Yake - Sergei Berezin
Jeff Freisen - Jiri Novotny - Brian Willsie
Joe Murphy - Rico Fata - Ivan Ciernik
Tom Chorske - Joe Sacco - Stephen Peat

Joel Kwiatkowski - Jason Doig
Frantisec Kucera - Sylvain Cote
Rob Zettler - Rick Berry

G
Jim Carey - Rick Tabaracci

I also have Dmitri Mirinov and Ivan Majesky on my roster, but they were on IR even in my dreams. And Jakub Klepis and Petr Sykora who I signed, but have returned to Eastern Europe. Oh and Dmitri Khristich, who I only dress when I think things might get a little rough on the ice!

Matty Yeats would be the starter on any of those teams.

where is the dave tippett love? i was at the game when they announced that Khristich was going to play for us. In fact I called it once i heard they had a secret announcement to make. He walked onto the ice during a break and just stood there, and the cap center went crazy. He just slowly looked around and took it all it. It was pretty damn cool.

.....for the young folks....that wasn't all at once (or were we?! maybe I've really done some serious blocking ). We were never that bad. We had a scorer or two sprinkled in with those guys. But those woeful sons of guns were all Caps. No wonder we got no respect.

i remember wilson and his love affair with Terry Freakin Yake.

But if we're talking awful players and lineups from yesteryear, we probably should be featuring the 2 1 2 rover lineup.
