Bourne Legacy

No Matt Damon, but still looks pretty good.

I still don't really get this big push to make Jeremy Renner the next big thing, doesn't have the charisma of others.

Trailer looks pretty good though. Are they pegging him as being even more unstoppable than Bourne in this movie? The guy who literally outsmarted an entire intelligence department, and killed every assassin that came after him?

Some of my favourite moments of the Bourne Trilogy had nothing to do with fight scenes. It was the cat and mouse game between Bourne and Treadstone/Blackbriar. It was the acting and the chemistry. It was watching Bourne outsmart everyone else. And yes, it was rooting for Matt Damon.

Let's hope Legacy remains true to the films.

Meh, I'll probably go see it but it is stupid to call it Bourne whatever when there is no Jason Bourne in it.

Didn't know Norton was in this......I'll watch it on DVD, but I can't see Renner drawing the same amount of emotion from the viewer for his character that Damon could.

Really was hoping Damon would be a part of this one but without the script or director he wanted I guess it wasn't going to happen.

There's a big void of significant action stars. He fits the role. Might not be the best actor, but he can fill it.

I can't ****ing wait to see this. It's a bummer Damon isn't going to be in it, but I knew for about a year, so it already sank in. At least they got Renner and Norton.

This is closing in as my favourite trilogy of all time.

I will definitely watch, not expecting it to be as good as the first 3, without Damon I don't even think that's possible, but I do expect it to be a very solid addition.

Looks great to me. Renner is credible in these types of roles and it has much of the same cast as the other films.

Anybody else think its a little funny that Renner doesnt have the "Charisma" for this role when it was filled by "Mr. Charisma himself" Matt Damon

Looks like a cynical cash grab to me: not only no Damon but the new source material wasn't written by the original author of the Bourne series, Robert Ludlum. Maybe they should have called it The Bourne Approximation.

The first few movies were really only vague approximations of the Ludlum novels to begin with.

It's a good thing Jason Bourne is an enigmatic character.

I'll be honest though, they could have replaced him with anyone, and my interest would always have left with Damon. It just doesn't work for me.

True but you have to understand this isnt along the same lines of replacing Jason Bourne (matt damon) with a new actor in the same role. Its a new character in a new role. Its not like in Ironman when they replaced Terrance Howard with Cheadle.

Count me in as one guy who is sad Damon won't come back. But the tradeoff is getting Edward Norton? That's a deal I'll take 10 times out of 10

Yeah... but it's not really a Bourne movie with Jason Bourne, you know?

Replacing Terrance Howard or Katie Holmes didn't bother me because it was a minor role. It didn't feel like I was losing what drew me to those franchises.

Exactly, at least Van Lustbader is using Bourne in the books he writes. As different as the 3 first movies are from the books, at least the general premise is the same and the character is the same. They use the name Bourne Legacy, which is the first Van Lustbader written Bourne novel, but it is totally different. In the book Bourne returns to being David Webb and is a university professor. This is clearly a money grab.
